𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞?
Like I stated last week, we do collect data on why people want to work for Deloitte. But we also, naturally, collect data what makes people stay with us. In our team.
Based on our people engagement surveys and upward feedback processes, these are some of the key themes with clear correlation to highly engaged talent at Deloitte Finland.
-𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 – our people feel and understand that their work matters. And it does. Thanks to our clients and the trust they place on us in helping to navigate their most challenging issues, our professionals have purposeful projects and engagements.
-𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 – my personal opinion is that the most important requirement for being a good leader is the ability to turn the focus from doing one’s own, individual tasks and meeting own individual KPIs into supporting, coaching, and serving others – i.e., helping others to achieve their goals. Based on the feedback we get from our people, our leaders are there to support and serve their team and team members in reaching their goal, with positive touch.
-𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 – once people succeed and thrive for their best at work, we do recognize it.
Katja, our CHRO, also added to the above list our 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: all the way from the values and beliefs into actual behavior. In addition, our talent values the fact that we continuously develop their skills and provide diverse career opportunities. Finally, Katja noted the 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 – something we are now [re]designing with our HR team to take systematically to the next level, as part of our promise to proactively support both mental and physical well-being of our personnel.
What makes people happy – and stay – in our organization? Quite an important list to know and remember, for every leader out there.
