National Inclusion Week is a reminder of something that should be at the heart of every workplace: kindness. As the sponsor of Cadent Gas Limited Grief Awareness Community, I’ve seen firsthand how essential it is for people to feel supported, especially when they’re navigating life’s toughest moments. Grief isn’t something that’s often discussed in the workplace, but it’s a part of life for so many of us and it shouldn’t be hidden or ignored. Inclusion isn’t just about policies or initiatives; it’s about creating a culture where everyone feels seen and valued, especially when they’re struggling. A little kindness, a listening ear, or simply being there can make a world of difference. Let’s commit to being more mindful, more compassionate, and more inclusive not just this week, but every day. We’re all in this together. #ImpactMatters

It’s September! National Inclusion Week is on the horizon. Is your organisation ready to truly embrace change? Change isn't just a spot you land on—it's the path you take. Eugene from Social Matters breaks it down for us: Change equals trying new things, plus doing them over and over, plus time. Think about it. What happens when we shake things up? We grow. We improve. Results will happen—not overnight, but over time and it's important to help them to stick. This month, why not try: Monday pulse checks: Create a space where everyone shares their state of mind. How's your mental health? Let's talk. Community spaces: Specifically for your Black and Brown colleagues. A safe spot to share, be heard, and really belong. These aren’t just quick fixes. They’re steps on a longer, intentional journey to be a more inclusive workplace. We are proud to partner with the brilliant folks at Social Matters. Experts in creating inclusive cultures, they understand that real change takes patience and persistence. Watch Eugene explain why “experimenting with difference” is key in the clip below 👇 #Inclusion #NationalInclusionWeek #SocialMatters #tyllr

We rise by uplifting others, not by highlighting their flaws. Emphasizing support, encouragement, and empathy in our interactions is key. Helping others succeed creates a more inclusive environment for growth. Building each other up fosters stronger relationships and promotes a healthier community or workplace. #Support #Empowerment #Inclusivity

Who are you thankful for this week? Inclusion Week was so incredibly hectic that I didn’t have time to write my Thankful Friday post, so here it is now, let’s call it Celebration Saturday instead! Thanks to Employers Network for Equality & Inclusion (enei) I’ve talked with the NHS about Mental Health, council workers about creating an Inclusive Culture, barristers and other Chambers’ staff about Anti-bullying, Harassment and Sexual Harassment at the Bar, another NHS group about Neurodiversity at Work and Beyond, a rail operator about inclusive culture strategies including addressing micro-behaviours and language through Courageous Conversations, and thanks to Champions Speakers I had the opportunity to speak for a second time with both TouchTunes and Fox's Burton's Companies staff. Every session has been intensely rewarding and I’ve had the privilege of hearing some incredibly brave, candid stories from people who have experienced or are experiencing exclusion at work or the wider world, due to a response to who they unchangeably happen to be. I’ve never felt so exhausted, yet to invigorated at the same time. Thank you to all who came with open minds, open hearts and shared their insights and experiences so authentically, and to all who received and responded with such genuine compassion and empathy. This is where real change happens. Every story matters. #InclusionWeek #CelebrationSaturday #ThankfulFriday #MentalHealthAwareness #InclusiveCulture #AntiBullying #Neurodiversity #CourageousConversations #WorkplaceInclusion #ChampioningChange #EmpathyInAction #RealStories #EveryStoryMatters #CandidConversations #WorkplaceWellbeing #CommunitySupport #ChangeMakers #OpenHearts #OpenMinds #DiversityAndInclusion #TogetherWeRise #Empowerment #SupportEachOther #InclusiveWorkplace #MentalHealthMatters

Have you ever been “The Only”? It can feel isolating. However, I’ve been the only one on teams where I felt included, valued, and that I belonged. It’s our responsibility to ensure our employees never feel like “the only.” How are you fostering a sense of belonging? #InclusionMatters #SenseOfBelonging #DiversityAndInclusion #BelongingInTheWorkplace #InclusiveLeadership #WorkplaceCulture #EquityAndInclusion
