Transport Innovation Lead | Technology Development | Intellectual Property advice at PA Consulting

Every once in a while you get asked to do something that you really don't want to do - like appear in a video. But Digital Twins are such a difficult, dare I say, controversial topic - they are so misunderstood but have so much potential. We use them every day at PA Consulting but often don't think of them as digital twins - rather as tools for our clients to make better decisions. So as part of our #HowThingsWork series, where we try and demystify technologies, the wonderful Iris Alting has interviewed me, Stephanie Klecha, Stephen Guy and Callum F. about what Digital Twins are and why they are important and useful - but also how to use them to their full potential. It makes me think (again) about why PA is different (I have a famous Venn diagram that I should publish on LinkedIn some time) - to really get the most out of Digital Twins, you need to combine a deep understanding of physical tech and science, the digital and data to share that understanding at scale and analyse it and the business consulting to really dig into what the business decision is that you are trying to enable. Bold claim - but noone else has the ability to combine those three lenses through a single organisation* https://lnkd.in/eU4mTgQ5 Thanks to John O'Neill, Andrew Taylor and Marc Booth - FISM as well for pulling this together. #DigitalTwins #HowThingsWork * So far as I know - welcome suggestions as I'd love to talk to them and share notes!
