Richardson Economic Development Department’s Post

This morning Mayor Bob Dubey and City Manager Don Magner joined executives with the GEICO team as they cut the ribbon to celebrate the designation of its Richardson office as a new operations hub to grow commercial insurance offerings. The expansion is part of GEICO's strategic efforts to enhance small businesses and commercial clients. The announcement comes with 500 new jobs, and hiring is already underway for customer service, claims handling, and policy support positions. GEICO highlighted Richardson's appeal as a business and employment center for locating its new team here and has been in the community since 2016 when it relocated its North Texas regional office. GEICO is a member of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies and is the second-largest private passenger auto insurance company in the United States.
