Can we teach a robot its limits to do chores safely & correctly? To help robots execute open-ended, multi-step tasks, MIT CSAIL researchers used vision models to see what’s near the machine & model its constraints. An LLM sketches up a plan that’s checked in a simulator to ensure it’s safe & realistic, potentially aiding household robots: https://bit.ly/3ZNJWXj Full video: https://bit.ly/41vmteQ

🌍 In the Baltics, the food and textile industries are among the least automated in the region. With ongoing staffing shortages, robotics could be a game-changer, improving efficiency and ensuring consistent quality. 🤖 💡 Why should you bother? 🤖 Adopting robotics can help these industries overcome labor challenges and drive long-term growth and resilience. 👷♂️ Thanks, Aaron Prather for sharing! #industrialrobots #industryautomation #FoodIndustry #TextileIndustry

𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘣𝘷𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴: 𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘥𝘴! Here's a new poster paying tribute to industrial robot arms as the 𝘖𝘳𝘤𝘴 and cobots as the 𝘌𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 of robotics. One excels in strength, the other in precision and appearance. 😄 Feel free to share, use, and print. DM me or comment for a link to the high-quality version—though experts probably know where to find it! Cheers! MERPHI #robotics #cobots #industrial_arms

Some robots have arms, some arms are robots. Different types of robot arms are good at different things, which we have tried to illustrate in our latest MERPHI Poster. Do you like robots and/or have arms? Then you should definitely have a look!

I went into a grocery store the other day and had a difficult time finding an employee to help me but I did bump into a floor cleaning robot a couple of times...would have been cool to have something like this at the grocery store. Maybe the floor-cleaning robot could have directed me to where the eggs were? #nvidia #nvidiaomniverse #omniverse #metaverse #python #programming #pythonprogramming #pythondeveloper #cplusplus #softwaredeveloper #coding #techartist #technicalartist #techart #technicalart #digitaltwin #iot #graphics #rtx #nvidiartx #nvidiaresearch #womenintech #womenwhocode #womeninstem #womeninsteam #girlswhocode #girlsintech #girlsinstem #girlsinsteam #openusd #ai #artificialintelligence #syntheticdata #sdg #syntheticdatageneration
How can #robots remember? 🤖 💭 For robots to understand and respond to questions that require complex multi-step reasoning in scenarios over long periods of time, we built ReMEmbR, a retrieval-augmented memory for embodied robots. 👀 Technical deep dive from #NVIDIAResearch ➡️ https://nvda.ws/4gDhdL0

Recently I posted about human factor robots, however this side-by-side helps demonstrate the number of options expanding in non-human form factor. The future is coming fast. As more and more businesses understand the variety of industrial, vehicular, and personal form factors we will soon see a similar burst of 'science fiction' robotic form factors that are multi-segmented, amorphic, magnetic, transforming, and more. As components are refined and miniaturized our robotics are going to expand from milligrams to tons and we will see delivery and swarm bots that are capable of deploying dozens, hundreds, or even thousands of smaller bots. Think about it: How long do you think it is before we see robotic arms deployed in modern vehicles? Do you foresee a time when your laptop or smartphone has a robotic assistant arm?
