“It’s essential to acknowledge the limitations of human behavior when it comes to addressing climate change. People often struggle to react to threats that seem distant. By aligning technology with existing agricultural practices, we can encourage adoption without requiring significant changes from farmers or corporations.” We recently spoke with Brandon Harris, Head of Strategy and Business Development at Eion Carbon, about the importance of accurate, data-driven carbon measurement and how Eion’s approach sets them apart in a market often clouded by uncertainty. Dive into the full interview and explore why Eion's methods matter for the future of sustainable agriculture and carbon removal. 🌱🌍 Read more: https://lnkd.in/g979fUDY Ryan Clinton Ben Walker Adam Wolf Anastasia Pavlovic Hans Andrew Simeonidis William O'Connor Chris Shrieves Eliza Wright Elizabeth Monahan Kristin Kane Leah VanLaan Maria Mooshammer Michael Sesko Shreya Nathan Soroush Rezvan, Ph.D. #RidgelineBacked #CarbonRemoval #Sustainability #AgTech #DataDriven #ClimateChange

Lincoln Agritech celebrates 60 years of innovation Lincoln Agritech Limited's recently released Annual Review for 2023 celebrates 60 years of innovation. In the report, they look back on how some of their enduring research themes have evolved over the past 60 years – such as in freshwater and agri-technology – and look forward at their research into some more recent challenges, such as climate change action and developing new high-value uses for natural materials such as wool and cellulose. The review provides several case studies of Lincoln Agritech's research and how it helps their partners and end-users. These include increasing productivity sustainably, predicting and mitigating climate change, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and developing strategies for managing clean, accessible, and efficiently-used water. Last year was a year of change for Lincoln Agritech. They formed new partnerships including a Horizon Europe research programme, and they and IRANZ farewelled long-term Chief Executive Peter Barrowclough. #LincolnAgritech #60YearsOfInnovation #AnnualReview2023 #AgriTech #FreshwaterResearch #ClimateAction #SustainableInnovation #GreenTech #NaturalMaterials #WoolTech #CelluloseResearch #ResearchExcellence #FutureOfAgritech #iranzresearch https://lnkd.in/ggpVSRDq

And this is my final mention to #VERGE24: - Culture is key to change consumer behavior: Michael Hawthorne Jr. gave us a beautiful lesson on that through his Klean Energy Kulture - Carbon removal must be part of the existing supply chain: Vaulted Deep (Julia Reichelstein) takes biosolids and agricultural wastes and injects deep in the soil, Lithos Carbon (Jonny Lu) partners with farmers to sequester carbon and improve their crops, CREW Carbon (Joachim Katchinoff) integrates with water treatment facilities to capture carbon and improve alkalinity of the water. - Cleaner, more efficient mining of rare earth is fundamental for the ever increasing batteries market - and it's viable, as ElectraLith shows with their membrane separation technology - In a world that's capital intensive (so different from my software world! ;-)), #AdvancedMarketCommitments and #OfftakeCommitments are essential tools for #entrepreneurs and investors to invest with confidence in our future - so corporates should partner with marketplaces like #FrontierClimate to make it happen! - Commercialization and adoption are big challenges! In software, a technology is ready to be adopted the day after it launches, but in hardware/chemistry intensive areas such as #ClimateTech, it takes years for an innovation to progress in the #TRL (Technology Readiness Level) scale, and that still doesn't mean it will be adopted - that's why in parallel we also need to consider the #ARL (Adoption Readiness Level) framework. - Climate change is a very serious topic, but it's also important to relax and have a laughter while at it, as Stuart Goldsmith (Climate Comedian) (what???) showed us Thanks Hans Bukow for bringing this conference to my attention, I got a lot out of it! And congratulations Trellis Group on a fantastic event!

🤔 Why should we care about Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA)? In short, climate change + growing population + sustainability. This new method offers a way to produce more food using less land and water. Sure, setting up large-scale CEA facilities requires significant upfront investments in advanced technologies. But the long-term value and impact outweigh this challenge. While not a replacement for all farms, CEA offers a promising future for food security. It also opens doors for collaboration with technology providers on a way to transform food systems 🌱 Explore pros & cons of industrial-scale CEA in the article from Yuriy Petruk 👉 https://bit.ly/4dwhs91

Any kind of agriculture has an effect on the environment and we need to minimize that impact, whilst still ensuring everyone has access to high quality and nutritious food. With our sustainability priority (”Higher yields, lower impact”) we’re focused on finding innovative ways to increase productivity, while reducing impact on the planet and without increasing land use or greenhouse gas emissions. Next-generation active ingredients such as ADEPIDYN® technology embody this approach with yield protection even at low use-rates. Together, we can create a future where agriculture becomes a climate solution. 🌎💡 #SyngentaSustainability #SustainabilityPriorities #Innovation #Technology #ClimateSolution #NextGeneration
