It seems that we are marching towards a cashless society, a fact that I have severe concerns over. I myself am guilty of rarely carrying cash but what about the elderly, those of no fixed abode (and therefore no bank account) the poor.....? and you have to have a card to travel on public transport. Elderly people have grown up with cash and many of them prefer to budget and manage their daily finances that way. Where I live all the banks have closed down, so there is nowhere to pay in cash.
