It is always better to have a diversified portfolio with a long term approach. Just buying midcap and smallcap schemes with expectation of high returns is a bad idea. Also have some portion of your corpus in schemes like Flexicap, Value Fund, Multi Asset Allocation for the purpose of redemption of money in case of any emergency.
