Day's question ⁉️ What is the main role of the mechanical angle indicator on a boom Offshore Crane ? a) Measure the depth of water under the crane. b) Determine the angle between the boom and the water surface. c) Locate the crane on the nautical chart. d) Measure the speed and direction of the sea current around the crane.

I keep requesting a reference list and approx cost of installation but no one replies ? I imagine the installation costs will be very high compared to an annual underwater hull polish - plus imagine the installation cost of running conduits and hotwork penetrations in ballast water tanks - to the hulls wetted surface area …… It will be interesting to see a installation list and trials which back up what they are claiming …….🤔 If anyone has this installed please comment.
