The Village Christmas Paradox. Let me first wish you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS 🤶 🎄 ❤ 💕 There’s something magical about Christmas in the village—an irony so striking it makes you pause. On one hand, it’s the simplest, most authentic experience: no blaring notifications, no endless streams of emails, no city rush. On the other hand, it’s incredibly demanding. Every meal is a production, every task feels like a workout, and even the smallest comforts require intentional effort. No internet means fewer distractions, but it also means feeling a little disconnected from the world. No instant deliveries or pre-cooked meals—everything is from scratch, made with love but requiring patience and stamina. Even rest feels earned after a day of chopping wood, fetching water, and cooking over an open flame. Yet, there’s something profound here. The laughter of children playing in the yard, the aroma of fresh chapati or roasted goat wafting from the kitchen, the genuine conversations that stretch late into the night. Stripped of convenience, we rediscover the essence of Christmas: togetherness, gratitude, and the beauty of simplicity. Would I trade the sweat and toil for the ease of the city? Maybe not. The irony is that the very demands we gripe about bring a depth to this season we’d otherwise miss. It’s not easy, but it’s unforgettable. What’s your take? Would you choose a village Christmas over the comfort of the city? #ChristmasParadox #VillageVibes #HolidayReflections #SimpleJoys #Togetherness #Gratitude #AuthenticChristmas #UnpluggedLife #FamilyFirst #TraditionAndLove

When do you start decking the halls? 🎄 Are you a "Christmas tree goes up the day after Thanksgiving" kind of person, or do you wait a bit longer to soak up the fall vibes first? Or, maybe you have your own unique tradition or skip the tree altogether due to personal or religious reasons. No matter how you celebrate this time of year, it’s the perfect moment to create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere in your home. Pro tip: Try diffusing Holiday Joy or Holiday Peace for those festive holiday scents, or choose something more neutral like Douglas Fir and Lemon to freshen up your space in a way that feels right for you. So, how are you planning to create a warm, inviting space for the season?

Some Festive Website Tips... If you haven’t done it already, now’s the time to do some practical bits on your website before the festive period. 🎄 If you have opening hours on your website, make sure these are updated to reflect any changes to your opening times over Christmas. 🎄If you have a deadline for taking orders to get products to people before Christmas, it’s a good idea to give plenty of notice on this, so pop those on your website now. 🎄If you write an end of year blog post don’t leave it too late to post it. Towards the start of the week beginning 16th December is probably the latest people are going to be interested in this kind of thing before they start to wind down. I hope these little tips help. Photo of our living room Christmas tree to add to the festive spirit of the post. (yes we have more than one tree!) Is your tree up? Please may I see a photo?

Prepare for Christmas https://lnkd.in/eJsS4C63 To prepare for Christmas, you can: set a budget, start shopping early for presents, plan your Christmas meal in advance, make travel arrangements if needed, decorate your home, create a gift list, consider making some food items ahead of time to freeze, and most importantly, plan your time with family and friends to minimize stress; remember to also consider the spiritual aspect of the holiday by reflecting on its meaning.

Moving into a new, downsized home doesn't mean downsizing your holiday spirit! 🎉 Here are some simple steps to make your Thanksgiving cozy and memorable, no matter your square footage: 1️⃣ Set the Scene: Use a festive table runner and cozy candles to create warmth. A smaller space can feel more intimate with the right lighting and decorations. 2️⃣ Simplify Seating: Arrange chairs or a bench for flexibility. You’re downsized, but your heart is still big enough for everyone to gather. 3️⃣ Delectable Dinner: Focus on crowd-pleasers. A simple turkey breast and a few favorite side dishes can keep the workload manageable, without skimping on flavor! 4️⃣ Embrace the Outdoors: Living in Orange County? Take advantage of the mild weather—add a few chairs outside for a breath of fresh air after the feast. 5️⃣ Create Connections: Have everyone share what they’re thankful for. It’s the little things that create lasting bonds. Remember, it's not the size of the home, but the love shared within it that makes Thanksgiving special. 🍂🤗 What’s your go-to trick for hosting in a smaller space?
