𝗨𝗣𝗜 𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀? Like most people my age, I’ve been using UPI and credit cards routinely. UPI is my go-to for everyday transactions—quick, convenient, and always on hand. But when it comes to bigger and planned purchases—like shopping online or shopping on a day out—my credit card gives me much better discounts and rewards. Essentially, I used to pretty much switch as needed and as allowed by merchants. Since National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) launched UPI credit cards last year, I was closely following how the segment is growing. And when I was finally giving into the curiosity to pay with this new way, I got Rio - a UPI credit card founded by a fellow friend Riya Bhattacharya. It’s now been around a month that I have completely switched from UPI to UPI Credit Card. And so I was reflecting a bit on how using this product has been. 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝗼, 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼: ➡️ Pay at over 16+ small vendors where I was a regular customer (these include late night groceries at my nearest kirana store, coffee in my coffee break, and if you are very very lucky and your auto driver happens to have a merchant QR, then once in a while a few auto drivers too). These vendors do not have card machines but knowing that I am making this payment on my credit card was an aha moment in itself. ➡️ Use the money that I have in my bank account for making smarter investment choices. I earlier had to split my salary into spending and saving. Now I get to keep a larger chunk for savings. If you know how to best utilize interest free periods, then you are going to be at a benefit. ➡️ Earned around ₹800 rupees in cashback. While this might seem a small amount, I would have not gotten it anyway had I used regular UPI. If I save this much for the next 12 months, by the end of the year I would have saved around ₹9600! It is an amazing way to switch to a new way to pay. Amazing to be one of the first few adopters of Credit Card on UPI! UPI credit cards are truly what we love combined with what we need. Kudos to National Payments Corporation Of India (NPCI) and RuPay for building this. For me now, it's UPI and credit cards. Thanks to Rio. Keep going Riya Bhattacharya, Vivek Amarnani & team 🚀🚀 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿: Please note that this is my personal experience with Rio and not a sponsored endorsement. #Creditcard #UPI #CConUPI #Rio #NPCI #Rupay
