Every incredible trade show display starts with knowledge that only comes from experience. Over two decades of bringing exhibition visions to life has taught us that small insights often make the biggest impact. That’s why we want to share practical tips from our experience.
𝗫𝗟 𝗧𝗶𝗽 #𝟭 - 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗶𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀
Lighting position can make or break your backlit display. When designing, account for both day and evening lighting conditions. Test your graphics at different times to ensure consistent impact around the clock. Remember: what looks perfect in daylight might wash out under evening venue lighting.
𝗫𝗟 𝗧𝗶𝗽 #𝟮 - 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮
Print resolution isn’t one-size-fits-all. Use this formula: For every 10 feet of viewing distance, you can reduce resolution by 25%. A banner viewed from 40 feet away doesn’t need the same DPI as eye-level graphics. This saves time, money, and file complexity without sacrificing impact.
𝗫𝗟 𝗧𝗶𝗽 #𝟯 - 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆
Consider your venue’s lighting before choosing materials. Matte finishes reduce glare under harsh convention center lights, while gloss finishes pop under controlled lighting. The right material choice eliminates distracting reflections that can make text unreadable.
𝗫𝗟 𝗧𝗶𝗽 #𝟰 - 𝗠𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀
East-facing convention halls can create unexpected glare during morning sessions. When designing booth graphics, factor in the sun’s position during show hours. A display that looks perfect during setup might become unreadable when the show opens.
