3 creative & low-cost ways to reward your team this festive season 🎁 We get it, the work Christmas party blew the budget… So here are 3 creative ways to reward your team for their hard year of work (with little to no budget). 📝 Personalised cards/notes It might sound simple, but a personalised note can go a long way. Just make sure it’s actually personal. No “Merry Christmas Jane. From, Your Boss”. Let your team members know what they’ve done to support the business and why you’re genuinely grateful. 🏆 Awards ceremony Virtual or in-person, let the team vote on high school style awards. Everything from most stylish to most unprepared for stand-up. The winners can receive mini trophies, comedic presents or little things such as sweets and food. 🍕 Team lunch The infamous pizza party 🤦♂️ But, done right, it can be an easy and fun way to reward your team. Extend lunch, get some tunes on and grab some pizza for the team. Or do it on a Friday towards the end of the day and have an early finish. There are plenty of other things, from time off tokens to small value gift cards. These are just a few ideas to help build/sustain team culture whilst celebrating the festive season within business means. Happy Holidays! 💚🎄 #FestiveSeason #Celebrate #HR

As the holiday season approaches, the countdown to Christmas isn’t just about festive celebrations—it’s also about wrapping up the year strong. For sales teams, this is often a critical time to close deals and set the stage for a successful start to the new year. But let’s face it: as Christmas draws near, distractions multiply, and energy can dip. Keeping the team focused and motivated requires intention and creativity. Here’s how we’re driving momentum while embracing the festive spirit: 1️⃣ Set a Clear Finish Line: Break down goals into achievable weekly targets so the team knows exactly what to prioritize before they switch off for the holidays. 2️⃣ Embrace Festive Fun: Whether it’s themed competitions, a holiday playlist in the office, or surprise gifts, injecting holiday cheer can keep spirits high and energy levels up. 3️⃣ Celebrate Wins Loudly: Every deal closed or milestone reached deserves recognition. Acknowledging these achievements reminds the team of their impact and fuels motivation to finish strong. 4️⃣ Highlight the Reward: A well-earned Christmas break is the ultimate motivation. Remind the team that their hard work now ensures they can truly relax and recharge over the holidays. 5️⃣ Lead with Gratitude: Show your appreciation for the team’s dedication throughout the year. A simple thank-you can go a long way in building morale and reinforcing a positive culture. As we approach the finish line, it’s about more than just closing deals—it’s about ending the year with pride, purpose, and a sense of accomplishment. Let’s make the most of these final weeks before we log off and enjoy the magic of the season! How are you keeping your team motivated in the lead-up to Christmas? 🎄 Keeping Teams Connected During the Festive Season 🎄 As we wrap up the year, I’ve reflected on the little moments that unite teams. Creating spaces for connection for the FT customer care team has been a real highlight – from our festive bake-offs to painting personalised baubles for the office tree. These activities remind me that engagement doesn’t have to be grand to make an impact – sometimes, it’s the smallest gestures that foster the biggest sense of belonging. I’d love to hear how you’re keeping your teams connected and motivated this season. Are any festive traditions, big or small, worth sharing? Let’s inspire each other as we head into 2025! 🌟 #LifeatFT #TeamEngagement #FestiveSeason #WorkplaceCulture

It’s Been a Tough Year—Celebrate the Season Creatively 🎄 For many businesses, 2024 has come with challenges, and the traditional Christmas party or hampers might not fit the budget. Here are meaningful ways to spread holiday cheer: ✉️ Handwritten thank-you notes paired with a sweet treat or festive candy cane. 🕊️ Extra time off or a flexible workday to kick off the holiday season. ⭐ Recognition moments during a team meeting to highlight individual contributions. 🎁 DIY gift packs with small, personalised items that show thoughtfulness. 🍪 Shared morning tea or lunch - a simple gathering can make all the difference. It’s the thought and effort that count most. Small gestures can create big impacts, leaving your team feeling valued and motivated for the year ahead. How will you celebrate the season? The festive season is here, and the atmosphere in many corporate spaces in the DRC is… unique. (If you work here, you know exactly what I mean.) While many around the world are wrapping up their work, decorating offices, and diving into holiday cheer, the work environment in the DRC tells a different story: • Tight deadlines, even as the year ends. • Team members juggling family and professional obligations. • A strong cultural value of community and connection, even in corporate settings. But here’s the thing: the festive season isn’t just a time to close deals or hit year-end KPIs. It’s a moment to: • Celebrate the wins (big or small). • Appreciate the resilience and dedication of your team. • Build stronger bonds with colleagues as we move into a new year. So here’s my question for you: How is your workplace embracing the festive season? Whether it’s a team lunch, an act of service, or simply reflecting on the year’s journey—let’s make it meaningful. Let’s start 2025 with gratitude, renewed energy, and a commitment to growth. P.S. Don’t forget to pause, breathe, and celebrate. We’ve earned it. Repost this if you agree ♻️ Thank you!

70 Days Left, 3 Commitments 🏆 As the first signs of the festive season appear (and let's be honest, who doesn't secretly enjoy the festive aisle brimming with biscuits, chocolates, and maybe a twiglet or two?), I've started to reflect on what I want to accomplish before the year wraps up. It's been a milestone year—launching CybAid, marking a full year of self-employment, and juggling the demands of academic life while often asking myself, "What have I gotten into?" Amidst it all, I haven’t had much time to think about what’s next. With just 70 days left in 2024, I’m choosing to set 3 commitments rather than traditional goals. I believe this time of year should be about reflection and intentionality, allowing us to recharge rather than risk burning out by Christmas. 1️⃣ Handing Over the Reins As my business and non-profit aspirations take shape, I've come to realise that I can't do it all—and that's okay. I'm surrounded by talented people for a reason. Over the next 70 days, I’m committing to identifying where my involvement is essential and where I can confidently delegate. My goal is to ensure everything runs smoothly without the need for constant oversight, allowing both my projects and myself to thrive. 2️⃣ Finding My Own Rhythm I’ve experimented with countless online planners and even dabbled in the 5am club, but I still struggle to make a proper to-do list—or wake up before 7am. It’s a reminder that trying to fit myself into others’ routines doesn’t always work. By embracing what truly suits me—like sticking to pen and paper and allowing myself a well-earned lie-in—I’ve found I’m much more capable and productive, and I'm sure I can find plenty more ways to do this! 3️⃣ Taking Some Breathing Time It's something I've often talked about but haven't always managed to put into practice—making deliberate space in my day and throughout the month for activities that don’t involve my phone (especially checking emails). Over the next 70 days, I’m focusing on refining this habit, prioritising time away from screens for a more balanced routine. What are you committing to before 2025? #70DaysLeft #YearEndGoals #IntentionalLiving #SelfReflection #PersonalGrowth #HealthyHabits #WorkLifeBalance
