Rise Against Hunger India’s Post

This machine ⚙️ is helping farmers reclaim their livelihoods and strengthen their resilience in drought-prone Odisha’s Bargarh. Frequent droughts in Bargarh push farmers to migrate for livelihoods. But change is here 🌾. As part of its agriculture support initiative, Rise Against Hunger India provided a paddy de-husking and polisher machine to a farmers’ group of over 5000 members. This machine is transforming lives. Here’s how: ➡️ More Value, Less Labor: Farmers no longer rely on labor-intensive manual milling. With the machine, they efficiently separate polished rice, rice bran, and paddy husk. ➡️ Multi-Product Revenue: • Polished Rice 🍚: Consumed or sold in the market • Rice Bran 🐂: Used as livestock feed (₹40/kg) • Paddy Husk 🌾: Repurposed as animal bedding (₹3/kg) ➡️ Boosting Income: Farmers charge ₹50 per quintal for milling, generating a gross revenue of ₹7.5 lakh since its installation in 2022. Together, let’s build a sustainable future. 🌾 #FarmerEmpowerment #SustainableAgriculture #DroughtRelief
