It was great to present my recent advancements in developing new AI-based robotic techniques for EV battery disassembly (REBELION EU PROJECT) at the “Annual Automation & Robotics for Non-Road Applications”. Automating the process of battery disassembly obviously reduces risks for workers, but the question remains: does producing more EV batteries truly help sustainability in the future? How much energy will be consumed in remanufacturing? Which is greener: fossil fuels or electric cars?
