We've been reflecting on the impact of our OnBoard programme. An idea that grew out of @kaminawalton's work around young people and governance has turned into a movement of organisations who have transformed their governance through young leaders. We started OnBoard in 2018 in response to the lack of young people's voices at a strategic level in the creative and cultural sector. Since then, we've been able to support 39 young people on to the boards of cultural organisations (and counting!). OnBoard really was ahead of its time, and we're proud of it's impact. Demola Scott PHRi shared a lot of personal experiences during our technical session yesterday Sabi Cliq, and a key takeaway for me is the importance of being committed to one's growth and development. You are the captain of your own ship, and real growth doesn’t happen just because time passes – it happens because you take action. For entry-level professionals, gaining experience is essential. We're all on different levels in our careers, but self-awareness and self-regulation are key. Some points that stood out to me: 📌 Shyness won't help you showcase your abilities – speak up, let people hear your voice, but balance is key. 📌 Leverage social media platforms to show your expertise.
