Ten weeks into my own NDA plan. It didn't go to plan, I wanted to get 5 chin-ups, but I have struggled with pain and recovery from training so I have had to reduce the volume and intensity. But that didn't mean I didn't keep showing up. I ate in a calorie deficit without feeling overrestricted, lost a little weight, and now I am ready for a week away knowing that I can be flexible with what I eat and get right back into routine when I'm home. I will still keep working towards that chin-up goal. I didn't get it, but I didn't give up and I do feel good about how consistent I have been. Do you want to get consistent? Lose weight? A potential client told me this morning that he needed a coach to be whipped. Couldn’t not think about Chandler in Friends...! Anyway... In other words, he needs a coach to be accountable, to go the extra mile, to feel a positive pressure to deliver, to hit his deadlines and reach his objectives. That’s for the exact same reasons people will decide to hire a Personal Trainer. A PT will push them harder than they would normally push themselves. The extra reps, seconds, additional weight might just be the key to results people are not getting on their own. Same for coaching. The extra actions, phone calls, emails, messages, networking events, deadlines are the key to the results clients are not getting on their own. We need to have clear objectives with clear actions with deadlines to get sh*t done. That’s it. “Hope you break both of your legs fallin' off your horse”. That’s an NF line from Motto. And the horse reference is “High Horse”. First off - I don’t want anyone breaking their legs. Here’s the point. No one has time for a teammate or leader running around on their high horse. It’s soaked in arrogance + ignorance. Both of which have no business, in business. So yea, if you’re running around on your high horse. I’m leaning in on the line from NF. What are YOU doing to avoid this? Having peers or spouses gut chucking you? Asking your own team to keep an eye on it? Have a plan. Avoid the high horse. Don’t break your legs. Crush it folks ✌🏻
