I came across an interesting article recently: Understanding Your Brand by David Woruka. It dives into the foundational aspects of branding and makes the point that "your brand is more than your logo"—a well-worn line in the branding world. But it got me thinking: do most people even think about the word brand at all? Is "branding" truly part of the everyday vocabulary outside of our field? For those of us in this space, we often assume people grasp the nuances, but I wonder how much the term brand resonates beyond design and marketing teams. Maybe the idea of "branding" hasn’t made its way to household conversation yet—and that may be one of the challenges we face. If the word itself isn’t clearly understood, how do we ensure the brand behind it truly connects?
