Farmers in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district have adopted Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques to grow chillies. However, they face challenges in accessing broader markets and getting fair prices for their produce due to limited bargaining power and local market limitations. By partnering with village-level entrepreneurs, we've established a direct market channel for IPM chillies in Karnataka and Hyderabad. This has enabled processors to purchase 55MT of high-quality chillies directly from these farmers. As a result, farmers are now able to sell their produce at better prices, leading to an increase in their income by 5-10% Debarshi Dutta, Milind B, Ashutosh Singh, Anand Mugad, CA Kunjal Thackar, Anjali Mahajan, Rajesh Jain, Nitish Bharadwaj, Aalap Bhatt, Avneesh Trivedi, Rocky Basor, Ankur Chaturvedi, Durgesh Gautam, Salman Haider, Anish Ahmed, Ashish Singh, #msme #sme #business #chilli #farmers #fpos #agriculture #empower #finance #startup #fintech #agritech #technology #ecosystem #success #IPMChilli #telangana #vles #marketlinkages #Ayekart

#Urvarasa farmers Ramhari & Laxman Kadam have created a niche for themselves in the natural toor dal market. However, this year the incessant rains have damaged the toor seeds and damped their aspirations. Not that they made big profits from the toor sales but #Urvarasa does ensure fair compensation for the hard work of the farmer. As per #Urvarasa values, we encourage the farmer to adopt mixed cropping practices that have undeniably proven to be resilient to the effects of climate change as well as ensure that the farmer is not left with a total crop loss, unlike farmers who practice the conventional mono-cropping practices. #celebrating a great beginning for ACCESS Development Services as we start a prestigious #partnership with #HUF Hindustan_Unilever_Foundation #JalAajAurKal for addressing #demand side challenges for #water in #agriculture for 1,00,000 #farmers across 10 blocks of #Jaipur district. The program has two key strategies: 1: Working directly with farmers to encourage #waterefficient #practices at #farm level, promoting a shift in behavior, & 2: #Leveraging #Government #schemes to improve #water #infrastructure. The program aims to save 176.39 #billion liters of #water apart from helping improve #productivity, increased #income and additional man days of #employment to the farmers in the region. We also aim to promote innovative solutions from #agritech and #startups working on this theme. Jaipur region is already categorized as #critical and challenges of farmers on water scarcity and resultant #agroecological issues were one of the most highlighted risk, during a baseline study conducted with #lacaixa #foundation under our #work4progress program in the area. We had a wonderful experience of the #duediligence process by #HUF . It was quite #inclusive and both teams actually #codeveloped the #program , Sh Shraman Jha also presented a copy of the #annualreport of #HUF titled #WaterScarcity to #WaterResilience to Vipin Sharma during the occasion.
