German grid costs are to be modified to share the burden, supported by regions with significant growth in renewable energy capacity, with all German electricity consumers.

A market-driven approach is crucial for scaling the energy transition, and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) are key to making renewable energy more accessible, especially for smaller businesses. Traditionally, PPAs have been used by large corporations to lock in competitive rates and stabilize costs. However, smaller companies often face barriers due to scale and complexity. Aggregated PPAs are changing that by allowing multiple SMEs to combine their energy demand, negotiate better rates, and reduce risks. It is important to address existing challenges that affect many of the international investors in Chile and to push for the implementation of political promises, in particular the expansion of the grid. Further on we expect the reduction of lateral costs (e.g. minimo technico and PMGD), which have been multiplied over the last years and are 12-15 times higher than the budget based on the tender.   At wpd, we have been working for over a year on proposals and initiatives aimed at contributing to the public discussion to generate support for correcting market distortions with the goal of achieving a clean, reliable energy industry at competitive prices. #wpd #Chile #renewables #onshorewind #greenhydrogen
