I hired a Senior UX Designer a little over a month ago. At that time, we had to turn down a handful of other amazingly talented people. On Wednesday, our team opened up another Senior UX role. I reached out to the hiring managers and asked if they'd like to revisit conversations with any of the previous finalists - they did and we had 1 person in mind. I talked to this person yesterday, made an offer and they signed last night! In less than 24 hours, we got it done. Sometimes that "we'll keep your resume on file" is actually true 😉 A good reminder that creating a positive experience and building a great relationship with people can really help - you never know when your paths may cross again! #Hiring #Recruiting #TalentAcquisition

The scarcity of junior and intermediate UX/UI design jobs doesn't make a lot of sense...🤔 Hear me out. - 🔨 Junior designers generally focus on the executional side of things. This means creating interfaces in Figma, conducting the user research, etc. once the direction has been decided. - 🔍 Seniors designers focus on product strategy and collaboration with other teams using their understanding of the business, market, and user needs. So seniors/leads decide on the direction and tasks, and let juniors/intermediates carry them out. This also means that most seniors will give feedback to help iterate, but they are not actively creating artifacts in Figma. This is an oversimplification, of course. Check out Intercom's Product Designer Job levels chart for a better understanding! https://lnkd.in/gPSTcCni ❗ And here's why it doesn't make sense — doesn't every single tech business need somebody to build their interface?? Who's doing it if they have no juniors? Are senior designers forced to also do junior design work, or worse, treated like a junior designer? 🚩 And the ultimate problem: if there are no junior/intermediate jobs now, then there will be no seniors to hire in the future. There has got to be some misunderstanding somewhere. I believe there are huge opportunities for us to create more beneficial scenarios for BOTH businesses and the design ecosystem. I'd like to start some discussions around this topic! Are you a company trying to hire their first UX designer, or have a small design team that you are trying to expand? I want to hear from you and learn what you're looking for! Or if you have any insights and input for the situation, let me know what you think! #UXAvengers #UXDesign #UIDesign #ProductDesign #JuniorDesigner #IntermediateDesigner #Jobs

🚩 If you're hiring a UX designer take note -> ⚠ As a designer with over two decades of experience, I have learned that combining the roles of UX designer and front-end developer in a job posting is not the most effective approach. 🦄 Both roles require their own skillset and expertise, and trying to find a "unicorn" who can excel in both roles will likely result in less output or a higher cost. 🤲 Instead, consider hiring an amazing UX designer and an amazing front-end developer to work together. This collaboration will produce excellent results for your product. 🍽 Remember, a professional UX designer and a professional front-end developer will each have a full plate of end-to-end deliverables. Keep these roles separate in your job posting to ensure the most effective hiring process.

Hey peeps, been a while I drop my two cent on design process. Walk with me today! ☺️ Digital wireframe or paper sketch, which is better in terms of ease and fastness? Personally, I mostly prefer paper sketch cause of how simple and easily accessible it is for me, also it seems faster because of it’s simplicity using just pen and paper. I’m not saying digital wireframe is not good enough, but you know, we need something to make production faster and easier. Also, as a UX Designer, one of my main goal is give my users seamless experience and how to do that is by creating solutions to a certain problem. So as a designer myself, this is me creating an effortless solution to one of my problems by printing out a mobile frame on A4 paper format which will help me solve design problems faster for users to have a seamless interactions. This my take, digital wireframe could work better you, and you can as well drop your opinion in the comments. 💫 Photo Credit: Twitter Product Design | Open for Hiring #wireframing #design #uiuxdesign #productdesign

Another ripping start to the week! Staff Product Designer joining this Series A company to work on some incredible software - highly technical products but with Design at the absolute core. I love with technical products truly understand and embrace the power design - both function and form (UX and UI). This is a really special one for me, whether this designer knows or not, the pride I take in my work and the fact that this is the second time I've connected them to the right role over a span of 7+ years and opposite sides of the planet - I really believe in this designer, did 7 years ago when they were just starting out and do now as they step into a high level IC role. One of the advantages I leverage in my searches in my time in this game and my global experience. I've connected with and spoken to more designers, around the world than most. I've navigated visas and work rights of all sorts - I know where opportunity is where those with less experience don't. For this hire the process was smooth and efficient but it took the right preparation - thankfully this Designer had been refining their portfolio for months, that got them in the room, then they'd been practising and tweaking their presentation for months, taking in feedback from every process they'd been through - constantly iterating and learning. It took just 3 weeks for this company to secure this top tier Designer. No Design tasks - just two highly informed and prepared sides. #productdesignhiring #productdesignjobs #jaredtredly #offeraccepted #designerhired #designsuccess

During our product development process, we're constantly thinking about prioritization. What do we build next? Do we focus on satisfaction drivers (something shiny ✨) or dissatisfaction drivers (where is my 😡 ) ? We've added a lot of new features that relate to the latter lately. We think we've drastically improved the way investors get (financial) reporting from us, but we also try to give context, and try to never just 'drop' information on our users. In my next post I'll dive deeper into how we find out what is important to build, and the initial process. Do you think you can do better? We're hiring a full time Product Designer. 👉 Get in touch! Hiring a Product Designer/UX Designer seems pretty simple right? Like making a cacio e pepe (don't ruin it by adding butter or oil) Time and time again I see people going about it the wrong way and so much time/effort is being wasted. 1️⃣ "Experience in Figma would be beneficial" 2️⃣ "You'll be responsible for conducting user research and creating hi fidelity prototypes" Great, this is like telling a Business Analyst you'll be responsible for creating documentation. No s**** Be specific. The cost of a poor design talent hiring strategy will be greater than just getting a specialist do it for you. It'll save you time and money. Drop me a DM if you want to hire the best designers for you. #latitudeit #uxui #productdesign
