🚀 Exciting news for NSW's biotech sector! RNA Australia has officially launched, marking a significant step in developing a world-class RNA research and development ecosystem in the state. 🔬 RNA Australia, a joint venture between the NSW Government and NSW/ACT universities, will oversee the new RNA Research & Pilot Manufacturing Facility at Macquarie University. This facility will be among a handful globally, driving innovation in RNA therapeutics, vaccines, and delivery technologies. The newly appointed board will lead RNA Australia, bringing together diverse expertise from academia and industry: 🎆 Susan Petrellis GAICD Petrellis – Founder and Managing Director, Bounce Partners (Chair) 🎆 Emeritus Professor Alan Pettigrew – Fellow of Senate, University of Sydney 🎆 Petra Andrén – Former Head of Innovation Districts, Greater Cities Commission 🎆 Dr Phil Kearney – CEO of Axelia Oncology 🎆 Dr Elaine Stead – Principal, Main Sequence Ventures With a signed Operator Agreement between RNA Australia and Aurora Biosynthetics (a subsidiary of Myeloid Therapeutics), this venture is poised to elevate NSW’s biotech capabilities.
