Ok Pub people I could do with your help, I think it's time we started making things clear.... Our industry has been pushed to the limit over the past few years and so have our margins. What was once an industry standard level of GP has now become more of an every product for itself situation, particularly for independent operators. The feedback from Punch Pubs & Co, Stonegate Group, British Beer & Pub Association & British Beer & Pub Association 's recent spotlight on the margins for a pint being as little as 12p being met with amazement by the general public I think we could go a step further. So here's what I'd like to do, I want to make some graphics we can all share, that hopefully will get shared and shared, and reach our communities, friends and families. Here's what I need: I want to know how much a pint was ten years ago in your pub, one of your best sellers. How much that pint is NOW and how much it would be with your ten years ago margins. The aim is to highlight how much as an industry we have absorbed ourselves, how we cannot just pass all our increased costs onto our customers.
