Reconnecting Kids with the Roots of Life: A Call to Action In a world rapidly advancing with technology, the nostalgic scent of soil and the joy of growing up on a farm are becoming distant memories. Today, many children are blissfully unaware of the journey their food takes from seed to plate. Let's take a moment to express gratitude for those of us who had the privilege of tending to a garden or growing up around farms. It's about more than just playing in the dirt; it's the magic of planting a seed and witnessing it blossom into the nourishing fruits and vegetables we enjoy. Imagine a world where more schools embrace the beauty of farm visits, providing a firsthand experience for those who haven't had the chance to witness the wonders of agriculture. Witnessing the awe and creativity sparked in children's minds when they see the transformation of plants into sustenance is truly remarkable. If I had the opportunity of one wish in life, it would be to invest in large farms and create a learning center—a haven for schools, colleges, detention centers, troubled teens, special needs children, Boy and Girls clubs, and any place eager to delve into a way of life often left unexplored. The goal: to share, teach, and work with kids and teenagers, offering them a taste of a life they might never have known. Our agricultural and produce industry often forgets the blessings we live each day. This message isn't just a reflection; it's a call to action. Imagine the impact we could make if we shared the joy and excitement we feel every day. Today, I share these thoughts in the hope of igniting a spark in your hearts to effect change in the lives of future generations. If you wish to contribute or be a part of this transformative journey, your support would be greatly appreciated, and I would be honored to help. Together, let's cultivate a future where every child understands the magic that lies in the soil beneath their feet. #FarmToFuture #CultivatingChange #NourishingGenerations #calltoaction #kids #love #investing4tomorrow #donationswelcome #investinginsights

🎄This is December—the season of giving, love, and sharing—and it got me thinking: What is the best gift I could ever give someone? At first, nothing came to mind. Then, a crazy thought struck me. I started weighing two options: 🤔 Do I buy someone a dress they can wear once? ✨ Or do I give them the skill to make dresses so they can create as many as they want, whenever they want? That thought reminded me of the power of skills. While a donation or one-time gift can bring momentary joy, giving someone a skill is transformative—it’s a gift that lasts a lifetime. I’m a proud product of Uncommon.org an organization that focuses on equipping individuals with the skills they need to build sustainable futures. Thanks to the skills I learned, I’ve been able to create opportunities for myself and provide for my own needs long after the training ended. Another amazing organization, CAMFED - Campaign for Female Education embodies the same principle. By empowering girls through education and leadership, they’re creating ripple effects in communities—because an empowered girl child is a force for change. This holiday season, let’s rethink the idea of giving. Instead of focusing on what’s temporary, let’s focus on what’s lasting. Imagine how powerful the world would be if more people were empowered with skills, education, and opportunities to thrive on their own. 💡 This December, what lasting gift can you give? #SeasonOfGiving #EmpowerTheGirlChild #SkillsForLife #UncommonOrg #Camfed

Join Us in Making a Difference! Just as the name of the organization suggests, our vision is to lighten the path of at least one person at a time. Last week, we went to LEA Primary School in Madalla and spoke with the headmistress. We were concerned about assisting some children in the school, especially those who need help. We didn't know exactly what we could do for the children; we didn't just want to help them, we wanted to address a REAL NEED The first thing the headmistress mentioned was writing materials, especially books. She told us about their daily encounters with children coming to school without books. Some have over 14 subjects but come to school with just one book. Sometimes they are forced to chase them home to get books, and their parents end up coming to beg for the children to return to school without books. Some parents try so hard to get up to 3 to 4 books for their children, but others just come to school like that, and this makes teaching difficult for the teachers. After listening to these stories, we decided to buy the pupils writing materials. Currently, a dozen books (12 pieces) cost over 3,000 Naira, and we are hoping to get them for about 20 to 30 kids. If you want to be part of this project; either by sponsoring, partnering, or volunteering. You are very much welcome. Let's do this together. Let's solve REAL NEEDS For more info, call or chat with us at +2348148202570. #lightapathfoundation #SDGs #impact #SchoolOutreach

Dear Everyone, I am not on Facebook or any other social media platform apart from LinkedIn, so the 'post-it-on- Facebook' troops will have to tolerate my non-strictly work-related post (at least I am not posting cute cat photos). I come here today with an honorable mission, to put the spotlight on a fantastic, wonderful, amazing charity based in #BristolUK. Are you sitting at your desk, super happy because it’s Friday and it’s not raining? pretending to work, while wondering about what to do with that extra cash you are intentional about not to waste carelessly? Don’t worry, you are not the only one. Could you, maybe, actually skip the self-indulgence that the Christmas Spirit seems to bring along (just for a bit); yeah, exactly, you know what I mean: those lovely artificially scented candles, the unnecessary cozy socks, the sweetest, most luxurious, boxed chocolates ever…which you frankly know you definitely don't need and will surely not bring you 'True Happiness' at Christmas... Why not save that cash instead and donate it to this amazing, inspiring and impactful #charity based in #BristolUK? It's called #BLACK2NATURE Black2Nature | Bringing Visibly Minority Ethnic (VME) People To Nature Would you help them reach their £10,000 goal on Crowdfunder? They have raised a 11% to date and they have only 9 days left. They really need those funds to keep going. It's simple to do, see here: https://lnkd.in/e8vaMFer Your donation will contribute to make some wonderful local children and their families happier (the real stuff) by connecting to #nature while learning about its healing power. When you donate, the charity will likely get a match funding, which sounds awesome (I didn't even know what a match funding was until yesterday!. Thanks for that and for the incredible work you do at managing the charity, #AyeshaAhmedMendoza!). If you don't donate, you could at least read about the project, how it started, who's the founder hashtag Dr Mya-Rose Birdgirl Craig D.Sc. h.c.-rose (also known as #Birdgirl) and her motivations. It's positive news to spice the season up. If you don't read, would you at least re-post within your network, so as to expand the views on to infinity and beyond?. I assure you this alone will boost your feelings of perceived happiness to maximum levels, lasting at least up to New Year's Eve! (Thank me later!)😇 'Y con esto y un bizcocho...' Raising kids well is a (HUGE) value add to this society both in the social and financial sectors . This truth hopefully supports anyone who wants to nurture , is nurturing or even is contributing in whatever way to raising well intentioned human beings into this society. Social media platforms including this one can be notorious for promoting very self serving & often non nurturing behaviors and I do hope to live in a world where specifically govts and companies see much more value in raising good children and giving people the resources to do so . People shouldnt have to feel like they are losing out or "doing nothing" if they genuinely want to raise their kids intentionally and fully by taking a break . That kid is going to grow up and either be self serving & cynical or be giving and basically be helpful and hopeful , So seeing that selflessness of their parents and the world , that supportive presence makes a huge difference in the kind of individuals and professionals we will come across in the later years. At least for those of us who want to serve the kids in someway , raise their own kids or help raise others kids (without waiting to be grandparents that is) ... I do believe its dumb to make such a group of people feel stupid , irrelevant , unsexy, desperate or unseen . Like it or not we aint taking anything with us when we leave this world and so leaving this world with great kids is a very vital need for humanity's next chapters and may i repeat a GREAT socio-economical value-add which yes shouldnt be erased , ignored , ridiculed and **uncompensated.** Feels better now , Thanks for reading ! PS : I think everyone regardless of their views on what they think of kids ,after crossing 27 years especially should at least be aware that the children around them cant be left with nothing and no one to call their own because we are "married to ourselves" and whether or not you "like kids" or want to have them there has to be sometime where you give the "me , myself and I " a little bit of a break and embrace the **ease** of being able to be selfless especially with the younger ones as you age.

Dreaming of an Organization In the near future, I envision an organization—a haven for both children and the elderly. Here’s what it would look like: Sunflower Haven:A physical space where generations collide—a vibrant hub of learning, laughter, and love. Bright classrooms for tutoring, art, and music. Gardens where little hands plant seeds and wrinkled hands tend to blooms. Intergenerational storytelling sessions—a bridge between innocence and wisdom. Meals with Heart:Nutritious meals served with dignity. No child should go to bed hungry, no elder should feel forgotten. Community kitchens where volunteers cook alongside children and seniors. Recipes exchanged, memories shared. Legacy Projects:Children documenting elders’ stories—preserving history, one conversation at a time. Elders mentoring teens, passing down life lessons like heirlooms. 4. The Call to Action My heart whispers: “Begin.” And so, I take the first steps: Connecting with like-minded souls. Learning about nonprofit management. Advocati

Fortunately we see today highly intelligent #business people and #entrepreneurs acknowledging the value of #parenthood. It’s not only a “tired mummy” issue anymore. Raising children is crucial for society, as we are nurturing and educating the generation of the future. What we do during those seemingly “unproductive times” will determine the citizens and #leadership of tomorrow. Raising children is simply the most important #enterprise we can dedicate ourselves to. Thanks for sharing this, Daniel Priestley.

The True Measure of Success: Raising Future Generations "Just Passing by" In today’s world, everyone talks about raising "good children," but how many of us truly dive deep into understanding what it takes to raise better children? Children are the foundation of any family, and ultimately, they reflect how successful we are—not just in wealth, but in values, resilience, and the ability to contribute positively to society. How they act in life, whether they thrive or struggle, is often a mirror of how they were raised. The greatest investment any parent can make is to equip their children with the tools and wisdom to live a life better than their own. When we empower our kids to surpass the challenges we've faced, we set the stage for their prosperity. And in turn, when they succeed, they will feel pride in supporting us, ensuring that our later years are filled with joy and fulfillment. Remember: If you want to spend your last moments in peace, invest in your children's future today. Their success is your legacy. #Parenting #ChildhoodDevelopment #FamilySuccess #LegacyBuilding #FutureGeneration #ParentalGuidance
