🌍 Morning Musings with the Elastic Band Ball! 🎾 Every morning, our post arrives neatly bundled with two elastic bands. Rather than tossing them out, I’ve been gathering them into an ever-growing elastic band ball on my desk—throwback to my early days at a mortgage lender, where we once built a basketball-sized one! 🤔 While it’s a bit of fun, it got me thinking more seriously about the costs and sustainability impact. I wonder how much the Post Office spends on these bands each year and if they’d ever consider a return service—imagine getting a few free stamps in exchange for sending them back! Not only would it cut down on costs, but it would also support sustainability goals. At Celtic Financial Planning Ltd, we’re always looking for ways to reduce waste and rethink our resources. This principle sits at the heart of our corporate social responsibility mandate: What do we handle daily, and could we do it in a way that’s kinder to our budget and the planet? ⚠️ So here’s my challenge to fellow businesses: What’s one small thing you’re doing that could be reimagined for a better impact? It’s often these little changes that collectively make a big difference.

We were putting in a lot of effort, but we didn’t see any real results because we lacked focus. • We started the company driven by emotions, without a clear plan. • There was no strategy in place. We just jumped in, thinking we’d figure it out as we went along. Not the best idea! But then reality hit: ■ We had to pay 5 employees every month. ■ We had to cover rent every month. ■ Managing all the bills became really tough. Even though we had made money from social media before, watching it all disappear each month was painful... Finally, one day, we decided to stop. And it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. Now: ■ I’m earning a good income with my coaching business. ■ My clients are making serious money. ■ I have two team members working online. ■ I don’t have to go to an office anymore. And in just the last two weeks, I made a nice amount of money. But how did I make this big change in just a few months?

The Beatles may have said, "Money can't buy love," but sharing it sure can help strengthen your relationship! 👫💪 According to research from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, couples with joint bank accounts argue LESS about money and feel more connected. 🎉 Merging your finances is like saying, "We’re in this together!" 🙌 It builds trust, promotes teamwork, and gets both of you on the same page with financial goals—whether it’s budgeting, saving for a house, or planning that dream vacation. 🏡🌴 Ready to merge? Here’s how you can start: 1️⃣ Open a joint account for shared expenses like bills, rent, and groceries. 2️⃣ Set clear rules on what’s paid from the joint account vs. personal accounts (it’s ok to keep some fun money!). 3️⃣ Create shared financial goals—teamwork makes the dream work! 💡 Working together on your finances can actually bring you closer. Start small, communicate openly, and watch your relationship (and savings) grow. 💕 Ready to build a stronger financial future with your partner? Remember the classic line from Home Alone 2, "Kevin, you spent $967 on room service…!!!" ?? 🤑 How did that line make you feel? -> The saver in me was mortified at such a large unbudgeted expense… -> The spender in me was impressed that room service in NYC was less than one grand for the duration of his stay… -> The parent in me was proud that he figured out how to feed himself without adult intervention… Three different emotions and three different mindsets to accompany the same fact, someone spending $967. Identifying the mindset as well as the emotions that arise when facing a financial fact is the most important step in mastering your money mindset. From expected recurring expenses, and dreaded escrow increases to surprise mailbox checks (thank you class action lawsuit from 5 years ago) and regular biweekly paychecks, question the emotion you bring to the situation. Challenge the default thinking pattern and remind yourself that feelings are not facts. Free yourself from old patterns, identities and cycles. An abundant mindset starts today! P.S. adjusted for inflation from 1992 to 2024, the same room service bill today would be $2,114!!!!

Back in 2016, we were working hard to grow our real estate business, but things weren’t moving as fast as we wanted. Then, we learned about using other people’s money, and everything changed. In 2017, we used this strategy to buy 12 rental properties in just 12 months. Suddenly, quitting our jobs and being our own bosses felt possible. And in less than a year, we made it happen. Since then, we’ve helped hundreds of people do the same—building wealth, working from home, and enjoying the freedom they’ve always wanted. The best part? You can do it too! You don’t need special skills, and because you’re using other people’s money, you don’t need a lot of your own. Want to learn how? Click the link in our bio! 😉 👉 @investormeldave
