Reflecting on my time in graduate school, I recall the Game Theory course as one of the most intellectually challenging and occasionally perplexing classes I encountered. Revisiting Game Theory recently, I came across an insightful explanation of the Repeated Prisoner’s Dilemma. This classic problem highlights a fundamental lesson: we make the world a better place, when we are Nice, Forgiving, Provokable and Clear. This framework not only illuminates the current dynamics within international alliances like BRICS, the EU, and NATO, but also provides valuable strategies for addressing both domestic and global conflicts. The principles derived from the Repeated Prisoner’s Dilemma offer profound insights into how we can foster more effective and harmonious relationships in various contexts. I remain hopeful that the US and Russia will navigate their challenges wisely, moving away from a cycle of defections towards more constructive and collaborative decisions.

Here's an important video to watch, to understand life, strategically. You might have heard of what prisoner's dilemma is, in game theory... but life is a set of continuous, interdependent prisoner's dilemmata. The video gives you 3 basic thumbrules to build a reaction system and potentially how the world might react to each outcome... My biggest takeaways are - Simple clear communication of a simple model outpaces complex solutions - “In the short term it is often the environment that shapes the player… but in the long run it is the players that shape the environment.” Words to live by.
