Panel suppliers plan to ship 7.8 million 80-inch or larger TV panels in 2024, a 35% increase from the previous year. According to RUNTO Technology's "Monthly Tracking of Global TV Panel Market Shipments," global large-size LCD TV panel shipments reached 21.1 million units in April 2024. This represents an 8.1% increase compared to April 2023 but a 5.7% decrease from March 2024. The shipment area totaled 15.8 million square meters, up 15.1% year-on-year but down 3.0% month-on-month. The average size of shipped LCD TV panels was 50.0 inches, an increase of 1.5 inches from April 2023 and 0.7 inches from March 2024. Two main factors contributed to the high and increasing year-on-year shipments in April. First, the G8.5 and 10.5 panel production lines maintained a high utilization rate of about 90% from March to April.
