In a few days, I will have to play the role of a real #senior. In #Milan, at Università Bocconi, in a debate organized as part of the "Salone della CSR" or #SustainabilityFair (https://lnkd.in/e2_zERHa), by Sustainability Makers, the organization coordinated by Secretary General Stefania Bertolini that brings together over 350 #sustainability managers in Italy, born from the CSR Manager Network, which I chaired from its foundation until 2008. It will be an exciting moment of discussion with Prof. Mario Molteni and Marisa Parmigiani, and we will take stock of the evolution of sustainability practices from #CSR (and even before) to #ESG and the issues that the #EU directive on #SustainabilityReporting will impose. A managerial generation has formed in this evolution and continues to evolve, setting standards and guidelines that keep progressing. As a practitioner with a certain #seniority, and in light of my #executivesearch activity at Hightech Partners, I see both the potential and interest in continuous growth. I witnessed some forward leaps that helped the practice, and its generated culture evolve further. At the same time, I must raise a flag, not red but orange: be careful of deviations that can create kind of a #wokeism, or #wokery, on the subject. This would help no one, especially those just beginning to embrace sustainability. It is certain that over the years of its evolution, sustainability has found the references and consolidated the #materiality it needed. Still, we must remember that, at its core, it remains a philosophical choice and a #moral approach to #capitalism and #industry.
