Today, with our community partner City Harvest at Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in Chelsea, Robin Hood CEO Richard Buery joined City Harvest CEO Jilly Stephens, Ryan Vinh from the Center on Poverty and Social Policy at Columbia University, and Rev. Dr. Anna S. Pearson to unveil Robin Hood and Columbia University’s Poverty Tracker report on food insecurity in NYC. With 1-in-3 New Yorkers and 44% of families with children experienced food hardship in 2023, it's clear that pantry use among New Yorkers is becoming more of the norm, with use among NYC's working adults remaining twice as high as before the pandemic levels. The discussion shed light on the vital role food pantries play in NYC’s safety net, serving families, working individuals, and communities who rely on them to make ends meet. Special thanks to City Harvest and Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen for hosting this important event and for the incredible work they do every day to fight hunger in our city. 🎧 Listen and learn how you can take a bite out of food hardship in the Big Apple: https://lnkd.in/enMMbr_7 #PovertyTracker #FightPoverty
