The performance of Filterra Engineered Bio media is unsurpassed. 12 months on, the Hydraulic Conductivity test confirms 3500-4500mm/hr performance.. compared to traditional media 300-400mm/hr (if it hasnt crusted up after 12 months). If you are designing a rain garden or bioscape, talk to us - Filterra systems take up less space and are proven to work.
Lily Dorraj, our Specification Engineer, recently returned to Keeley Park in Clayton South, Victoria, to oversee the maintenance of a Filterra®. This technology plays a crucial role in protecting downstream waterways from stormwater pollution. During the maintenance session, Ocean Protect 's dedicated team performed a hydraulic conductivity test on this high-flow bioretention system. This test ensures that the treatable flow rate of the Filterra® media is optimal and that the integrity of the system is up to standard. Thank you to all who submitted questions for last month's webinar "Pricing and Design Models for PFAS Permeable Reactive Barriers"! Today, we're featuring this question on maximum depths for colloidal carbon injected PRBs, and the answer provided by our VP of Technology Eliot Cooper. Question: Have you established any practical limits on maximum depths for colloidal carbon injected PRBs? Answer: We're designing PRB projects that go down to 190-foot flux zones to cut off PFAS leaving the property. Being the national leader in sonic drilling, depth really is not an issue for Cascade for either well installation or targeting bedrock fractures. Direct push has also achieved greater than 100 feet depending on lithology. We can also implement flux measurements in transmissive zone wells at these depths or for shallower DPT locations, we can also use our WaterlooAPS discreet sampling technology. If you missed the webinar, you can still get the recording here! Access the recording: https://lnkd.in/gHtMWeuy

Our Anderson Campus has been working as part of an environmental team on a physical model of the Alcosan Pump Station for the Alleghany County Sanitary Authority. We are addressing the significant garbage and grit issues that were negatively impacting water processing at the pump station in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Our team developed a physical model of the collection shaft, de-watering tunnel, and pump station to assess hydraulic conditions. We also: • Evaluated the transfer of solids through the system, • Identified areas prone to debris buildup, • Addressed hydraulic issues affecting pump performance. Modifications were implemented to reduce solids accumulation and improve efficiency, while clean-out cycles were tested to ensure effective solids removal from the collection shaft and tunnel. These improvements will help optimize pump station operation and ensure more efficient wastewater processing for the client. Learn more about how physical models can help solve your flow related problems! https://lnkd.in/eJxjUkkq
