I think it's fair to say it's been a tough old year for agencies, with fairly ropey economic conditions meaning clients are being cautious with investments or pulling back on their spend. But on a personal note, I'm really proud of what we've achieved in 2024. We've developed our strategy offering from essentially nothing 12 months ago into a really solid suite of products, working with some amazing brands like Stagecoach Bus, Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club, and British Cycling along the way. We've hosted three strategy roundtables where I've probably bored people to tears but we've also heard from some properly interesting people from the likes of Portakabin, Bargain Max, New Pig and KBF Enterprises. And we've continued to #DoGoodThings for our existing clients, continuing to deliver good results despite the slightly gloomy economic outlook. So all in all, a pretty decent year. And this post should save me some time when it comes to my annual review in January!

Translation: The revenue generated by the Toptracer product surpasses that of the entire golf club. This is because, The Toptracer product is constantly evolving, to meet the needs of the customer. Let the article below, be your guide!!! #golf #golfbusiness
In 2017, Gloucester Golf Club in England was on the brink of closure after several years of losing revenue. Club members came to the rescue and negotiated a members’ lease to keep the facility open. To help boost income, the club installed Toptracer at its range in 2022, resulting in a significant 350% increase in balls hit. Since then, the driving range has become a focal point of the facility, surpassing the golf course in revenue generation. Notably, Toptracer has helped successfully attract a new clientele, with many non-members converting to full-paying members. Additionally, the club now organizes events, competitions, and private parties using Toptracer, further enhancing its financial stability. To learn how Gloucester used the #1 range technology in golf to great success and how you can take your range to the next level, read here: https://lnkd.in/dg9ju9J6 #toptracer #toptracerrange #1inrange #golf #golfnews #golfindustry #drivingrange #golftechnology #rangetechnology #golfcourseowners #golfcourseoperators #golfuk #golfbusiness #bestpractice

Should you always build #padel courts under cover? Yes. Temperatures as low as minus 4 in #Stockport this week and snow on the ground for the first time this year ❄. We lost 48 hours of play to weather and when you also consider the impact of Storm Bert, not a great week for outdoor padel play. We always knew this was a project site to test and trial everything and so it is what it is but.. Every single Soul Padel club we open will have covered courts, not indoor courts as that's not our model, but courts with a roof and sides to protect against the "great" British weather. Us Brits are hardy souls and we do almost anything in any weather, we love the great outdoors but we dislike getting wet. Covered courts are a non-negotiable for us even when we open in #Australia... 🇦🇺 #padel #growth #sport #investment #community #weather #accessibility

Ready, aim, throw! Drawing a comparison between axe throwing and the energy industry might seem unconventional, however on a closer inspection both fields share intriguing parallels that highlight their unique characteristics and the importance of innovation, precision and continuous learning and improvement. Axe throwing without stating the obvious is a pretty niche sport. Niche sports often lead the way in innovation, whether through the development of new equipment, training methods, or organizational structures, sound familiar? Niche sports can also foster strong local and international communities bringing together like-minded individuals, creating a sense of belonging and camaraderie among participants and fans. It is with this sense of belonging and camaraderie Oak Hall Consulting Ltd are proud to announce we are funding one of our own on her journey back to the World Championships! Ceola McGowan will be defending her title of World Double Bit Axe Throwing Champion this year in August 2024, and we couldn’t be more delighted to be a part of this journey. As Ceola herself will tell you mastery of axe throwing requires practice, skill development, and consistent training to improve technique and accuracy. As professionals in the energy industry, we can most certainly attest to the challenges of constant change, need for innovation and reinvention, continuous learning and education and remaining up to date with all policy, technology, regulatory and industry change and best practice. Like our top of the axe throwing league Ceola, Oak Hall prides itself on being top in class for energy advisory, innovation and support – to all those entering or growing in the Irish and Northern Irish gas and electricity Markets get in touch! We wish Ceola the best of luck for her upcoming competition where we know she will kick some axe! Watch this space for more updates about the current world champion going for gold again. #nichesports #innovation #energy #renewable #marketentry #ireland #northernireland #gas #electricity #sponsorship #irishaxethrower #axethrow #axethrowing #worldchampionships #supportlocal

Travelling from Northern Ireland and now as far as county Wicklow in SE Ireland I haven't seen any of the public footpath signs so common in England. I'm assuming this is historic. In centuries past locals everywhere must have walked the same paths each day to go about their business and no one bothered to legislate rights of way. I suspect such rights of way (if you can call them that) fell into disuse everywhere when our ancestors migrated into cities, or were fenced off by opportunistic landowners. Fortunately in England and Wales we have laws that have protected most of ours. The Ramblers, Open Spaces Society and others work tirelessly to keep them from being closed down. Recent cuts to local authority budgets have impacted them, since someone has to ensure they are kept open when vegetation does it's thing. We may decry many aspects of the UK but at least we have public rights of way (although recent experience in the Llyn Peninsula of North Wales suggests not all are equally managed). Personally I have no desire to 'trespass' on agricultural land, just as long as there are plenty of places I can go for a walk in the countryside, that they are marked on maps and on the ground, and of course they are suitably maintained. The England and Wales Coast Paths are my favourites. I'm half way through walking/cycling them all and write my story up on leggingroundbritain.com. Please Ireland (North and South), give us your version. Brimming with millions of urbanites desperate to get out of cities and into the greenery probably explains our public rights of way legislation (consider the Mass Trespass on Kinderscout in 1932). Just to even things up Ireland. Your roads are super for biking, whilst ours are a national disgrace!

Excited to get the new season rolling and get back on the start line! After unfortunate injuries from Redlands and the termination of the NCL, I am coming back to training, building exciting new partnerships, and looking toward Unbound for my comeback race. Tackling Unbound after less than ideal prep is no doubt very intimidating. This race will require mental flexibility and holding expectations loosely. However, my story of last season is inspiring me to continue showing up and toeing the line with zero expectations except to face a mental and physical challenge and give myself an opporuntity to surprise myself. While my current preparation is far from where I'd like it to be, this is a unique opporuntity to connect with the mass participants of these off road events who may not have the support or ability for perfect preparation or a perfect bike set up. It is an opportunity to tell a story that can inspire people who may doubt themselves that they can also show up to the challenge of these events despite perceived barriers. The professionalism of gravel is exciting and I recognize I am in that group of professionals, but I am also someone who has "run what they brung" in the past and embraced the underdog mentality of gravel (dare I say the spirit of gravel). I see gravel as a physical and mental challenge that now has a competitive side that fuels exciting performances and innovation. Unbound for me will be a challenge, one that may be too big, but I am committed to showing up because if that can inspire one person to tackle a challenge in their own lives than it is worth it.

Ray Delahanty deeply delved into undersupplied cities as it relates to pro sports teams. And the results are fascinating. 2 potential United Soccer League (USL) expansion markets finished in the top 10 most undersupplied markets: 1. Inland Empire (1st) 2. Virginia Beach/Norfolk/Hampton Roads (5th) We believe both markets can and will support successful USL Championship sides. #usl #uslsoccer #uslexpansion #soccer #soccerbiz #sports #sportzbusiness #sportsbiz
