🌍 World Children's Day Today, on World Children's Day, we focus on the youngest members of our society. It is an opportunity to remind ourselves how important it is to empower children, protect their rights and give them a future full of opportunities. Children are our inspiration - their curiosity and creativity motivate us to create a fair and sustainable world. Let's work together to ensure that children get the opportunities and protection they deserve – Because the future starts with them. 💙 #Children #Rights #Future

Children's Rights in Planning and Placemaking! Our new Improvement Service paper 'How to children's rights fall into place?' takes a children’s rights approach to place and placemaking and considers how children’s rights can be realised through placed-based approaches. It pulls together a range of key policy areas which are important to placemaking and identifies how place makers can actively consider children’s rights in their work and approach to work. The paper is designed for anyone who is interested in planning and placemaking and looking to learn more about children’s rights and how they can create more rights-respecting and child-friendly places. https://lnkd.in/eCpXQyaP

place based systems change is vital to long term sustainability. Children can't thrive in environments that do not consider them as integral parts of the community. cohesive participation across services with strong participation and co-design from children will cause significant changes for all. I look forward to reading more about the examples of good practice in this paper!

Children’s rights are human rights. However, in too many places today, children’s rights are under attack. Enough is enough. This #WorldChildrensDay, stand with children in their call for peace #ForEveryChild, everywhere.

When it comes to children's rights, we take a 'child i view' 👀 At 54 reasons, our teams use a #childrights practice framework called 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘪 𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 - which sets out what we do, why we do it, and how we do it. 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘪 𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 guides us in delivering skilled, evidence-informed, ethical and relationship-based practice with children, young people, families and communities to keep them safer, stronger, connected, and supported to live their best possible lives. 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥 𝘪 𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 explores: 🪢the skills and approaches our people need to practice every day to create an environment that upholds children’s rights 🧠 the levels of knowledge and the mindset needed to deliver safe and effective practice 💭 the attitudes and behaviours that guide our practice and decision making 💖the values that are part of everything we do, inspiring and driving our commitment to children, young people, families and communities. 🌟 Children’s Day Special: Let Kids Be Heard! 🌟 This #ChildrensDay, let’s champion a world where every child feels safe to speak up and empowered to share their thoughts. 💬🧒👧 By encouraging kids to find their voice and express their ideas, we’re building a brighter, more inclusive future. 💡🌍 1️⃣ Create Safe Spaces – Whether at home or in school, let’s make places where kids feel respected and safe to express themselves. 2️⃣ Encourage Open Dialogue – Actively listen to their thoughts. Ask questions that inspire them to share. 3️⃣ Empower Them to Stand for Their Rights – Teach children about their rights and give them the tools to advocate for themselves. 👉 Ask them: “What would you like to change in the world?” 🗣️ Their answers might surprise you! Every voice matters. Let’s support our children in becoming active members of their own protection and empowerment! 🎉💪 #FindYourVoice #RaiseYourVoice #ChildrensRights

Happy Universal Children's Day, 2024. Children are not just our future, they are our present and their rights as well as voices are more important than ever. As we celebrate the Universal Children's Day 2024, let us ponder upon this year's strong theme: "Listen. Reflect and Engage." - Listen: Actually hear what children say about their dreams, fears, and hopes. - Reflect on their views and the challenges they face in today's world. - Engage in meaningful ways for their protection and building a safe, healthy, and inclusive world. At Compassion Africa Initiative, every day is a celebration of empowerment for a child. This day reminds us that fostering respect, dignity, and opportunity for children isn't just a duty but a shared responsibility. How to join the conversation? -Advocate for child rights. -Volunteer your time to mentor or support a child. -Create places where children can feel seen, heard, and valued. Let's ensure that every child knows their voice counts and their future is bright. #UniversalChildrensDay #UNICEF

Today, on World Children’s Day, I reflect on the privilege of working with so many young voices over the years—ensuring their rights are upheld and their best interests safeguarded. While we celebrate the progress made globally and locally in advancing children’s rights, we must not forget the countless children whose rights remain unmet. -Children living in war zones. -Children in countries where outdated and harmful laws persist; such as laws permitting child marriages and inadequate rape laws. -Children trapped in poverty, unable to access basic necessities, let alone the full spectrum of rights outlined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Every child deserves protection, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive, irrespective of their circumstances. Children’s rights are human rights
