🛠️ When you work in an industry for decades, it's easy to imagine how you would run things if you were in charge, how you would treat your employees and what values you would prioritize. It was awesome to chat with Chris Heesterman and Andrew Fettback and hear about how they got the opportunity to do exactly that. Both spent 20 years in the electrical contracting space and have used that experience to shape their own company, Fettback & Heesterman. Here are some of their key strategies: 💡 Horizontal structure: They spoke about including their team in decision making and listening to feedback. 💡 Field first: The pair always wnats to stay connected with workers on the tools and ensuring they have everything they need to succeed. 💡 Intelligent growth: Fettback & Heesterman have no problem saying "no" to jobs they can't crush or that won't turn a profit. They are interested in healthy growth, not just growth for growth's sake. Congrats, guys! Looking forward to seeing what the future holds ⚡
🔌 Many people dream about quitting their job and starting their own business. After 20 years of honing their skills in the electrical contracting space, Andrew Fettback and Chris Heesterman did just that to build the company of their dreams. Now the projects are stacking up and their team was recently honoured with a Gold Award from the VRCA - Vancouver Regional Construction Association. But the duo is keeping their heads down and sticking to their values. “People ask us about our growth plan,” said Fettback. “We don’t have a growth plan. We could do the same business as our first year and be happy. We want to be the best and only take on work we can deliver on. We say ‘no’ to more work than we say ‘yes’ to.” Read more about the story behind Fettback & Heesterman here: https://lnkd.in/gAkNd2Kv

Question: What is the longest-tenured employee at Kinley? Watch this video to find out! From leather tanning in the late 1800s to fueling America’s busiest airports today, our journey at Kinley Construction Group has been anything but ordinary. Our CEO, Jimmy Kinley, recently shared our story on The Jeff Crilley Show, talking about our unique 129-year history and the people who’ve made it possible. We believe our people are our greatest asset, and we exist to create / maintain a culture where those people are part of something bigger than themselves. We believe we’re about more than just the work. We’re about the bigger purpose “WHY” we’re here and we’re defined by the relationships we build, the communities we support, and the legacy we’re leaving behind. And we’re just getting started. #KinleyConstruction #BuiltOnValues #MakingAnImpact #TeamKinley Jeff Crilley https://lnkd.in/geZ8sHqv

A must read for every entrepreneur
Warren Buffets Heartfelt tribute to his partner reads: "In the physical world, great buildings are linked to their architect... Berkshire has become a great company. Though I have long been in charge of the construction 🚧 crew, Charlie should forever be credited with being the architect"
