Our young participants, drawing from the insights gained during the workshops and real-world experiences, shared their ideas for improving and closing the 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗴𝗮𝗽! Here are some valuable insights from participants, reflecting their opinions on effective strategies to close the gender pay gap: 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - This should be a top priority, as it is essential for both employees and top management to understand and address issues of inequality effectively. Noticeable changes call for more knowledge on the topic. 𝗠𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and, therefore, considered allies in closing the gender pay gap. Equity benefits the whole society. At the current rate, it will take 257 years to close the gender pay gap - International Trade Union Confederation - ITUC Today is International Equal Pay Day. This is a day to work towards the aim of achieving equal pay for work of equal value. And there is still so much more to do. The United Nations estimate that the gender pay gay is 20% globally. Turning to the person next to you, who does the same role, and knowing they are paid 20% more than you are sounds not only unfair, but unmotivating and disheartening.
