"The Importance of Waterproofing in Building Protection" Waterproofing is a critical component in ensuring the durability and protection of buildings against water damage. Statistics show that approximately 85% of structural issues in residential and commercial buildings result from water leaks, highlighting the necessity of effective waterproofing solutions such as bitumen. Benefits of Waterproofing: Structural Integrity: Prevents water and moisture infiltration, reducing the risk of corrosion and weakening of the building's foundation. Extended Building Lifespan: Proper waterproofing can increase the lifespan of buildings by up to 30%. Lower Maintenance Costs: Studies indicate that effective waterproofing can reduce repair costs associated with water damage by as much as 40%. Why Bitumen? Bitumen stands out as one of the most efficient waterproofing materials due to its: High resistance to water and moisture. Flexibility in withstanding climate variations. Ease of application and versatility. Investing in waterproofing, particularly with bitumen, is essential for safeguarding buildings and reducing long-term costs.

Find 4 Safety Observations in this 4 Second video. Press "...see more" once you spot all the safety observations and find out if you found them all. 1. This safety observation is an easy one – There’s a pool, palm trees, and you’d expect an ocean beyond. Then we see these storm shutters being installed near mountains, which makes you wonder why shutters are being installed. 2. If the shutters are to protect against wind-borne debris, the apartment is more than 30 feet up, and storm shutters are only required below 30 feet. If the shutters are for safety, these first 2 observations don't make sense. 3. Here’s the kicker (no pun intended). He stepped down from the balcony into the apartment. It's usually the opposite to avoid water infiltration issues. So maybe the shutters are to protect against rain, but that will never work. 4. BONUS Safety observation: The glass railing looks well above the standard 42” height. If this is a windy area, the glass doesn't look thick enough to withstand design winds and life safety requirements, especially since it’s installed so close to the balcony edge. Did you spot these 4 safety observations or notice anything else? PS - I hope you at least spotted two of these if you are in the construction business.
