𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐚 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝. We see it differently! It’s evolving. The experience has shifted, and so has the why. The market, along with ever-evolving tech and consumer behavior, will force this part of the industry to repurpose and reevaluate. While the traditional brick-and-mortar theater may seem outdated to some, it's less about disappearance and more about transformation. The #movie theater experience should and will adapt. It will become more fluid. Seeing the trend, the movie-going experience will adapt to a more tailored event. Imagine pop-up cinemas or exclusive screenings that turn each film into a special occasion. In this new landscape, the big screen experience becomes something we seek out only when the #film truly warrants it. This calls for a creative evolution in how films are made; some designed specifically for the theater’s immersive experience, others meant for the intimacy of home viewing, like streamers. The distinction could lead to something powerful: cinema that draws us out because it offers what we can’t replicate at home. Perhaps this shift will inspire artists to create with that in mind; films for the #theater and films for streaming, each serving a distinct purpose. When we are choosing between two alternatives, the addition of a decoy (third, less attractive option) can influence our perception of the original two choices. Decoys usually are completely inferior to one option (the target) but only partially inferior to the other (the competitor). Examples of the Decoy Effect can be seen across many industries. A very recognizable example is seen at the movie theatres prices of their medium-sized popcorn are significantly closer to their large popcorn instead of cheap to make the large popcorn seem like a steal.
