Clariant has introduced the Exolit AP 422 A, a new-generation, melamine-free flame retardant offering enhanced fire resistance and safety to meet the stringent requirements of modern industries. This innovation marks a significant advancement in fire protection by eliminating melamine, positioning Exolit AP 422 A as a valuable asset for developing high-performance coatings and sealants without reliance on melamine. In anticipation of current and future regulatory challenges surrounding melamine, Clariant has dedicated years of research toward creating a sustainable, SVHC-free alternative to the original Exolit AP 422 flame retardant. Sebastian Moschel, Business Development Manager of Clariant’s Passive Fire Protection segment, stated, “Exolit AP 422 A upholds the trusted reliability of the Exolit line, enabling our customers to maintain a competitive edge in fire protection products, particularly in regulatory compliance. This development allows manufacturers to adapt to evolving regulations while preserving the effectiveness of their fire safety solutions.”

Within this study the benefits of large area sintering, such as improvements of thermal resistance and the improvement of reliability were presented using Heraeus’ new PE360 large area sintering paste and AMX equipment.
