So drupa – no. 1 for printing technologies enters the second week. No doubt drupa is smaller (there’s plenty of empty space) and mostly the boooths and aisles seem less crowded than previous drupas. But visitor quality is high. Conversations are serious and searching. Despite the huge cost of being an exhibitor, I have no doubt that being here as we are is right for Highcon Systems Ltd. And that drupa plays a vital role for vendors and visitors alike. Times change. The industry evolves. But getting sellers and buyers together, face-to-face, hands on the equipment, live demonstrations has no equal substitute.

The topic of Smart Services from Muller Martini is attracting a great deal of interest at drupa 2024. Live demonstrations at the Muller Martini booth in Hall 1, 1B50, show visitors the added value of the individual components from the MMServices program. This has already resulted in numerous sales deals for service products.   "Our MMInspect program particularly impressed visitors and customers at our booth, and we were able to close a number of deals here," summarized Wolfgang Kurz, Head of the Support Competence Group Rahden, Muller Martini, shortly before the end of the trade fair. Contracts were also signed for MMMaintenance and MMImprove (training). Two customers decided to upgrade their InfiniTrim trimming robot, and Muller Martini will soon be relocating the SigmaLine Compact for another customer. The development partnership between Koenig & Bauer and ACTEGA will continue into the future after the two companies agreed to extend their partnership for another three years. The extension of the relationship, which already stretches back over eight years, took place with effect from 1 November following discussions during a meeting at Drupa earlier this year. As in the past, a significant focus will be placed on the provision of inline coating starter kits for all new Rapida presses. The agreement also covers quality assurance, joint R&D initiatives and combined marketing activities, such as presentations in the context of trade shows, user events, and print demonstrations, as well as the production of print samples.
