Join Us: A Special Convening to Defend Equity for Black Women and Girls – Sept 12th Be brave. Be fearless. Now is the time to come together, strategize, and take action. RCF Connects invites you to join us on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 6 PM as we unite in the fight against the legal and financial challenges threatening organizations like Equity for Black Women and Girls. These challenges make it clear: we must strengthen our collective resolve and find innovative solutions to ensure equity prevails. This convening isn’t just about addressing today’s obstacles; it’s about safeguarding the future. Together, we’ll explore strategies to protect and expand the initiatives that empower Black women and girls, ensuring they have the opportunities they need to succeed and thrive. Let’s stand united. Let’s drive change. Join us as we chart a path forward. Register for free and secure your spot today: https://lnkd.in/g3BAQJFN We look forward to seeing you there!

Landing On Purpose Post: WHEN YOU HAVE A VISION, KEEP YOUR GAZE ON THE BIGGER PICTURE. DON'T ALLOW DISTRACTIONS TO DETER YOUR MISSION. At Landing On Purpose, we believe in showing up to any space and place on purpose and on mission. I LOVE how founder, Arian Simone, demonstrates her singularity of focus and appears unfazed and undeterred despite the ruling against one of her funds. She remains in business doing the work of her mission. Developing solutions to close systemic gaps for historically undervalued and under resourced communities, should be lauded not undermined. The statistical disparities clearly tell the story. Do you melt when heat comes? At the first sign of resistance, what is your response? How do you bounce back? The video caption is misleading (funding ended for only one of the programs under this fund--directed toward Black women founders specifically--the rest for men and women of color are still in play), so watch the interview.

🗣️Linkers, This decision is deeply disappointing and sends a troubling message to me about the value of diversity in America.👎🏾 The 11th Circuit's ruling to block the Fearless Fund from awarding #grants to Black women isn't just a legal setback; it's a blow to our collective spirit and progress. As Black women, we already face the trauma of often being the only one in the room. This ruling compounds that pain, reminding us of the persistent barriers we face. It's not just about the money; it's about the recognition, support, and validation that programs like Fearless Fund provide. Blocking these grants tells us that our efforts to create spaces where we can thrive are not valued, reopening wounds and reinforcing the trauma of systemic discrimination. But here's the truth: We are powerful. This decision, as painful as it is, must fuel our resolve. We have always been resilient, turning obstacles into opportunities. This ruling underscores the critical need for us to stand together, support each other, and fight for our place in every room we enter. For future generations, this decision highlights the importance of resilience and self-determination. We need to encourage entrepreneurial skills and creativity, teaching our daughters and granddaughters to build and lead successful enterprises. Instead of focusing solely on traditional career paths, let's show them how to be their own bosses and innovators. Despite this setback, we have the power to create change. Let's turn this moment of trauma into a catalyst for empowerment and progress. By continuing to support each other, advocating for equity, and fostering diverse talents, we can work towards a future where diversity is not just accepted but celebrated and integral to our collective success. Together, we can ensure that the voices and dreams of Black women are not silenced but amplified. We can and will rise above this, turning our pain into power and our trauma into triumph. Where are our co-conspirators who will stand up with us? #RiseAbove #BlackWomenInBusiness #EmpowerBlackWomen #TurnPainIntoPower #DiversityMatters #BreakTheBarriers #SupportBlackEntrepreneurs #EqualityInAction #OurVoicesMatter #TogetherWeRise 2nd Chance Inc 𝗠𝗪𝗕𝗘 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 The Greater Gordon Heights Chamber Brookhaven Town NAACP NPR The Associated Press
