Today I met with Eric Nussbaumer President of the National Council of Switzerland and MPs Beat Walti and Martin Candinas. They were joined by partners from the Embassy of Switzerland in the Netherlands. We value our excellent 🇨🇭🇳🇱 relations: our countries share like-minded ideas in multilateral context, as well as challenges we face on national political agendas. We discussed that strengthened cooperation is of great importance in Europe, to maintain our (economic) competitiveness in a polarizing geopolitical world as well as for enhancing European security.

The conversation African leaders should be having now is how to reduce overdependence and overreliance on the West/East. It is doable, Burkina Faso, Mali et al are setting the pace and precedent. How do these sweeping EOs affect other countries and individuals?

My observation regarding the CIA's role in deposing democratically elected leaders highlights significant issues related to U.S. foreign policy and its implications for global governance. The historical context of interventions in Iran and Egypt illustrates a pattern where economic interests often take precedence over democratic values. Addressing these complexities requires a critical examination of U.S. foreign policy and a commitment to supporting genuine democratic movements, rather than prioritizing stability at the expense of democracy. Engaging in open dialogue about these issues can help foster a more equitable and just international order that respects the sovereignty and aspirations of all nations.
