"People like a shoe that lasts a long time. They like a shoe that at the end of life, the brand will take it back and deal with it for them. They like hearing the story about recycled materials. Are they connecting all of those things as a circular economy? Some yes, but not necessarily. I don’t know if they necessarily have to today, but eventually I hope that will be pretty common for people to know and understand.” Tune into VP of Sustainability James Rogers’s interview with The Cool Down to learn about Rothy’s role in the intersection of style and sustainability in today’s fashion industry. https://lnkd.in/gJ8EN_HK
People like shoes that are confortable that are on trend with construction materials ans colors. Stories about recycled etc. only matter is what i listed above is on target
Rothy's are thee BEST shoes I have- cute and comfy and always the first I pack for a trip- plus day to day goodness! Great company, mission and shoes. Et voila! :)
Circularity will be an SOP for every company over the next few years - our data at The Cool Down shows a huge interest in "how to get rid of my stuff" as a funnel / gateway into further climate actions. The companies that make it easy and rewarding to participate in the circular economy will win the future.
Thanks for sharing the story, and for talking with Freya Williams for our platform! Love your mission!
I personally have two pair, best business casual shoes I’ve ever purchased.

STRATEGY FOR CATEGORY LEADERS AT THE TOP OF THE MARKET – IN FOOD, REAL ESTATE, AND CONSUMER GOODS – TOWARD GROWTH, INVESTMENT, OR EXIT.
9moTwo thoughts: 1) Synchrony Bank's study on Affluent Market spending notes: consumers not only want to support brands that share their values, they'll not buy from those that don't. First time I've seen the stick rather than the carrot. V much in Rothy's sweet spot, don't you think? Brilliant idea, hoovering up plastic bottles and turning them into shoes. 2. I have more than a dozen pairs of Rothy's. And clearly –no one buys the second pair, if they don't love the first!
