🌟 A Historic Milestone for #HealthyLongevityMedicine 🌟 This week marks an incredible achievement in Healthy Longevity Medicine! In collaboration with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi and the Institute for Healthier Living Abu Dhabi, the Healthy Longevity Medicine Society (HLMS) established standards for clinical longevity medicine that have now received official government recognition. These standards will shape the licensing and founding of "Healthy Longevity Medicine Centres," setting new benchmarks for care. Gratitude goes to HLMS members like Dr. Nicole Sirotin, Prof. Andrea B. Maier, Prof. James Kirkland, Prof. Harold Pincus, Prof. Nir Barzilai, Prof. Thomas Rando, and visionaries such as Dr. Alex Zhavoronkov and Evelyne Bischof, MD, PhD, who introduced the concept of #LongevityMedicine just three years ago. The UAE continues to lead the way in transforming healthcare, and this milestone represents a massive step forward for longevity medicine worldwide. #LongevityMedicine #HealthcareInnovation #UAE

Genomics has the potential to change the future health of humanity. It’s also an opportunity to better understand why certain people might be more prone to or impacted by obesity. Yesterday at Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week, I discussed the latest developments and insights in personalised health and precision care which help address the obesity epidemic. Here are three key takeaways from what I shared on this topic during M42 panel discussion: 1. Genomics and epigenomics are quickly changing what we know about the relationship between genetics and obesity allowing us to improve our clinical practice. 2. To better Prevent and treat obesity, we need to establish a high-quality Emirati Reference Genome, so we can understand disease markers and inheritance in the our population. 3. Implementing personalised health initiatives for obesity management, must go hand in hand with ensuring workforces have the right expertise, patients have the right information and jurisdictions have the right infrastructure. We also should ensure ethical practices, fighting stigma and building mental wellbeing and reselience. Tackling obesity is an important focus for me and our team at Abu Dhabi Public Health Center . Thank you to my fellow panellists for sharing this passion and your experience. @Mohammed Al Hadad, @Dr Fatma Ridene, @Mohammed (Moe) Ayoubieh, @ Dr. Budour Alkaf, PhD I’m looking forward to the next two days together. #ADGHW #Obesity #Epidemic

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR) 3rd Summit at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre to foster insightful discussions on innovation and resilience in health systems. At this summit, @AstraZeneca will address the critical need for health systems to adapt in response to a variety of challenges in our region, including workforce shortages, the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases (#NCDs), and the increasing demands from aging populations, all compounded by economic pressures and climate-related disasters. These issues highlight the vulnerability of current health systems and emphasise the urgent need for transformative approaches. Our efforts to advance innovation are demonstrated through initiatives designed to equip health systems for today’s needs and future challenges. And it gives us great pride to have representatives from the #NearEast and #Maghreb, specifically from Morocco, Dr. Imane Kendili and Prof. Chekib Nejjari to give their views and participate in the discussions for better sustainable and resilient healthcare systems amidst climate change. The event is open to all attendees of Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week, and we eagerly anticipate your participation. We look forward to seeing you there! == #Sustainability #Resilience #Health #Partnerships #ADGHW #FutureOfHealthcare #GlobalHealthcare #AbuDhabiGlobalHealthcareWeek Rami Scandar Qutaiba Al Manaseer Jennifer Jackson Amine Sekhri Chakib Nejjari Imane Kendili Maria Nauss

It was a busy week in Abu Dhabi! We held the #PHSSR 3rd Summit: Working together to strengthen health systems, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Global Healthcare Week 👏 We launched the Abu Dhabi PHSSR report, developed in close collaboration with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, and I moderated a session focused on the need to act early on non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to strengthen health systems. It is crucial to leverage digital technology to improve early detection and intervention – and more broadly to invest in preventative care. The final session tackled the relationship between climate and health, and how climate impacts health equity. The healthcare sector must lead the charge against climate change – I was grateful for the opportunity to join a panel as part of the Health Leaders Forum on this very topic. Between a rise in NCDs, an aging population, and the additional threat of extreme weather events, healthcare access and delivery are under pressure. Through partnerships, disruptive business model innovation, and digitalization we can help bring targeted solutions to areas where health disparities are most pronounced, allowing for more resilient healthcare delivery with a lower environmental impact 🌍 👉 Read all about the Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR) here: https://lnkd.in/eMQF9Wf7 #Sustainability #Resilience #Health #Partnerships #ADGHW
