Boat industry update from France The French nautical industry body (FIN) has released some interesting annual figures, as well as an outlook on 2025. New boat registrations (and therefore sales) are down by over 23% this year, with the categories of small motor boats and sailing monohulls the worst hit. Larger motor boats and sailing multi-hulls have a slight increase. Certainly a worrying trend for the industry as a whole, however a massive reminder that new methods, technologies and strategies are required in what is now a rapidly evolving industry. People often ask me, “Why did you come to Lisbon?” My answer is always the same: the people, the city, and the sea 🌊 Regarding the latter, sailing has always been a dream. Being near the ocean was definitely a big factor in choosing the city we love so much today as our home with Katrina Razon. But in practice, getting to sail hasn't been easy. After searching for a boat to buy with Filippo Lombardi, we got the usual warnings – pricey maintenance, hard docking, and hours spent fixing rather than sailing. And even after finding a boat we were ready for, we quickly faced a 2-3 year waiting list for a marina spot, which forced us to abandon the opportunity. Then came the perfect solution: Nautic Squad, which offers co-ownership as a subscription. They let you enjoy sailing without the burden of maintenance (as long as you take good care of the boat!) and all the other stuff that is not part of the fun. Their proposition? Simple. Their offering? Affordable and flexible. Their solution? A no-brainer for anyone who wants to discover the thrill of sailing. This month, as we celebrate SME Day with Rauva, I want to give kudos to the Nautic Squad team, and especially Carlos Dias. Thank you for trusting us with your boat and supporting newbies like me to sail my first nautical miles on the Atlantic – and to many more! 🥂 For anyone interested in sailing in Lisbon, check them out here: https://lnkd.in/d9vaPdyH Carlos Dias, you're now nominated :) it’s your turn to share some love with a small business if you’d like! And for anyone who wants to #celebrateasmallbusiness, simply share a similar story to give them visibility, for the hard work they are leading every day. Vendée Globe - Solo round the world non stop race Wear and tear within the fleet After more than 2 months of intense racing in the Vendée Globe... The skippers have covered thousands of miles, braving the oceans and pushing their limits. But the boats are starting to show the strain: wear and tear is hitting the hooks particularly hard—those essential components that hold the sails at the top of the mast. The consequences can be critical, as seen with Yoann Richomme and Boris Herrmann, who have faced sail losses affecting their performance. And they’re not alone: damages are also appearing on the boats of Sébastien Marsset and Tanguy Le Turquais. Despite these challenges, the skippers continue to fight on with resilience. https://lnkd.in/deFVark9

The performance of the main autumn boat shows in 2024, including the Genoa International Boat Show, has clarified the outlook for the future of the Italian yachting sector. As reported by the Italian Marine Industry Association who presented the latest edition of 'Nautica in Cifre – LOG (Yachting in Figures)', the 2024 Italian yachting industry is showing signs of normalisation in terms of growth, following a long cycle of strong development, and signs of a more evident differentiation between the dynamics that define high-end products and smaller boats. Specifically, the small boat market is experiencing uncertainty, caused by the presence in a number of markets of high stocks of recreational boats, which are interfering with the sale of new models in certain size segments. Overall, the Italian yachting sector reached a historic record of €8.33 billion euros turnover in 2023 (+13.6%; 1 billion more than the previous year). 👉 The latest edition of 'Nautica in Cifre – LOG' is available online at: https://lnkd.in/dMRVTMCG 📧 Contact our SEA Yacht Group team by email to discuss purchase of Sanlorenzo or Bluegame yachts: superyachts@seayachtgroup.com www.seayachtgroup.com #YachtBroker #Superyachts #Vessel #SEAYachtGroup

Boa Sorte! Recomendação Bibliográfica p/estudo: Ferreira. M. Almeida. G. -Introdução a Astronomia-2003.
