Money’s tight & innovators are trying to squeeze all the value from all the dollars. 💵 So, what if 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗮 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝘂𝘁 𝗥&𝗗 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀? You’d jump on it, right? 👍 Of course, you would. You’re not crazy! Starbucks is a wildly successful company. They’re in every town - and people flock there. But it might surprise you to know that over the last 3 to 4 years Over 70% of their ideas did NOT come from inside the company. 😲 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺. WHAT? (Yes, you read that right.) 🚀 So, how did they take customer discovery and launch it into the stratosphere? They let their website man the controls. 👨🚀 By providing customers a platform to submit their ideas - one that’s open 24/7 they got a first-hand understanding of what customers wanted. Customer discovery doesn’t have to be difficult if you just know where and how to reach them. And I’m drinking a $6 cup of tea that proves it. ☕ #coiq #podcast #healthtech #digitalhealth #startups #customerdiscovery #innovation

Due to covid-19 Starbucks accelerated it's planning to close as many as 400 stores in the U.S. and Canada in the next year and a half. "PIVOT" is also planning to open 300 stores that will solely provide carryout and pickup service. What people wanted and society required.

This is what "the customer is always right" means. Not that they always know best. Just that they're in a unique spot with a unique perspective that you don't have.

Thanks for sharing, I had no idea Starbucks did this! Seems so simple but most companies/people don't go out and ASK for help, ideas, support, etc. There are so many creative and talented people out in the world, why not go straight to them and ask what they'd like to see!
