A common question I get is: will advances in telehealth stick? And after much deliberation I’ve narrowed my answer down to a definite: 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Vague-posting? No. Honest: yes. 🔍 The truth is, it all depends on the customer and provider experiences It’s rare for a convenience to simply go away - they tend to stick around. In the case of telehealth, however, it took a pandemic to lift restrictions and regulations and open a door that those in industry have been trying to crack for decades. 🚪 Feedback from customers who had positive experiences will go a long way in convincing policymakers that 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 “𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁-𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲.” Want telehealth to stick? ✍🏼 Write to your congressman 🗣️ Speak to your senator 🏢 Tell your employer and 💊 Tell your health plan Let them know that you don’t want this to go away. If enough people reach out, this convenience just might stick. Have you used telehealth in the past nine months? How was your experience? ✍🏼 and in Australia, people should write to the Australian Medical Association (and State bodies). We also need much better digital connectivity (more fibre to premise) to improve the consult / user experience. The Covid pandemic has certainly helped to pave the way for telehealth but very much work in progress. #AHx #innovate #digital2020 Still a few blockers and vested interests!
TeleHealth is here to stay! Its a very effective and efficient way to see patients (virtually), share images, have multiple party discussion in a safe, convenient method. Thanks for sharing Dr. Roxie Mooney! Now you should interview one of the true pioneer entrepreneurs in this space, Dr. Mike Greiwe, who founded and is building OrthoLive, the country's largest OrthoPedics focused TeleHealth Platform!
Roxie, there is more to this story. The incentives will drive further adoption. There’s also episodic vs health orientation. Lastly is the payment model and how it impacts behavior on both sides of the equation, clinical and patient. So much to unpack here!
It is efficient and the way of the future. I think it should stick around but face to face is also wonderful.
Good conversation, 🎙Dr Roxie Mooney, DBA!
Totally agree on that one.
Such a well-spoken guest.
Although I would love the F2F interaction, I don't see why telehealth shouldn't stay after all this. It would be good to have a convenient option for a doctor's visit.
Thank you for sharing your guests' advice Dr Roxie!
Really very interesting, Roxie. Thank you for sharing.
