Discrimination happens and, on some level, it always will. 😠 While we can’t change how others might react to us, we can change ☝🏽 how we go into a situation by removing blinders and being proactive. If your co-founder or partner experiences a level of discrimination you don’t, you can help if you: ✔️ Recognize the issue ✔️ Are thoughtful and intentional with your actions ✔️ Let your co-founder or partner speak first and drive the conversation ✔️ Set up more questions for your co-founder or partner to answer ✔️ Allow their intellect, talent, and experience to shine First impressions really do hold a lot of weight - by focusing on the value of each team member and less on titles, you can steer the conversation ⚙️ to a more productive destination. The more opportunity you give a co-founder or partner to take the lead, the better chance you have to shift the mindset of other people in the room. Have you run into discrimination (intentional or otherwise) while bringing your product to market? How did you and your team diffuse the situation and move forward?
