Let’s talk about “Pilot Purgatory” 👹 I use the term to tell the story of a company that co-creates to the point 😱 They build a Frankenstein product that’s no good to anyone Except the organization that pushed for the design. You know where this is going, right? ⛈️ It was a dark and stormy night….But I brought a flashlight! 🔦 While #pilotpurgatory can be common, you can ensure you don’t get roped into creating an unholy creation that has lost all hope of scalability. Just be honest with yourself about: 🌕 Who your company is - and who it is not 🌕 What your mission is 🌕 What the purpose is behind what you’re doing and 🌕 Use it all as a lens to decide: 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼? If it stays true to who you are, it might be a great strategy move. If it takes you down a different path, that’s not necessarily bad, But you’ll want to keep an eye on your gas tank 👁️ those side roads can be treacherous! Has your company had a product hijacked and thrown into pilot purgatory? How did you cope? 4ySpot on Dr Roxie...2 major problematic areas I see are: 1) A lot of health care innovators build solutions looking for problem rather than the other way around, and 2) Lack of clinical validation with metrics to back up their claims of what their product can do Pilot Purgatory perpetuates both of these
