Doing my Masters in the UK changed my life. One way to do so for free is through the Chevening Awards. Prepare in 3 steps before the applications open-->
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏: 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆
Check if you are eligible. To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must:
a) Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
b) Return to your country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after your award has ended.
c) Have completed all components of an undergraduate degree that will enable you to gain entry onto a postgraduate programme at a UK university by the time you submit your application.
d) Have at least two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience.
e) Apply to three different eligible UK university courses and have received an unconditional offer from one of these choices by the deadline listed on the application timeline.

𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟮: 𝟰 𝗘𝘀𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀
If you are eligible begin drafting on Microsoft Word the 4 Chevening essays with each essay being between 50-500 words.
a) 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩: Share your leadership roles in school, university, work, and life. Include examples of challenges you faced, how you overcame them, and the positive changes you brought to your community.
b) 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬: Discuss your national and international networking skills. Talk about your interactions with people from different professions and cultures, and how you plan to improve these skills to benefit your home country.
c) 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐊: Explain why you want to study in the UK. Describe how your chosen courses will help your career and why UK universities are special in your field. Mention your interest in cross-cultural understanding.
d) 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧: Outline your short-term and long-term career goals. Be clear and realistic, and explain how your plans will support your community or country. Relate your skills, volunteer work, and experience to these goals.
𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝟯: 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀
Chevening requires 2 letters of reference.
A referee must know the applicant either professionally or in academics.
Reference letters would be verified by the British Council once a candidate gets shortlisted.
Ask for these reference letters NOW. They take time and effort.
