Why stay mindful of #wildfire embers? Embers are often the source of property ignitions during a wildfire, not direct flame contact. #PropertyProtection #WildfirePrevention #CaliforniaWildfires #HawardenFire #EagleFire #RidgeFire #ForkFire

Myth vs. Truth... Being misinformed when it comes to safety in the event of a fire is a position nobody wants to be in. This is a common fire myth you may have heard about fires, and the truth behind it. A common myth people have shared about fires is that you have a few minutes to escape. There is no guarantee on how much time a fire will take to overcome your property. A small fire can spread to the whole house in just seconds. It's essential that you have a plan to get out safely with your family and pets. It is also important that you have prepared for the aftermath of the damage that is caused. #firedamage #firesafety #restoration #onthemove Alejandro Restrepo Alexi Giantomidis Draško Šamara Jennifer Restrepo PuroClean

As a seasoned firefighter, I can attest to the critical importance of vigilance as we approach the beginning of the #wildfire season. Make no mistake the fire season is here early. The combination of dry weather and parched landscapes has set the stage for potentially devastating wildfire season across #Canada. Each year, we witness the ferocity with which these fires can spread, threatening homes, wildlife, and lives. Devastating communities and exposing the lack of preparedness. The early onset of fire season is a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of our environment and the ever-present danger that surrounds us. As our brave firefighters (Urban, Rural and Wildland), stand ready to confront these challenges head-on. We as fire service leaders and advocates must also be aggressive in our advocacy and messaging to the public to take proactive measures to mitigate the risk of ignition. From clearing defensible space around homes to adhering to fire restrictions and bans, every action counts in our collective efforts to safeguard communities and natural habitats. Let us not underestimate the power of #prevention and #preparedness in the face of this formidable adversary. Together, we can navigate this #fireseason with resilience and determination.
