The further rise of VIC membership…. Velvet rope psychology…. How to let VIC know they are treated differently to others ? We will see further the rise in both paid memberships and access given to clients that spend a set amount (note there is a difference) This is in response to wants and expectations of VIC clients How this is executed can be a game changer…. Done well it drives acquisition, retention and engagement The opposite and a brand can fall further down in the “great luxury divide” (Yemi L.) Some brands will articulate these memberships, some will be selective in who they let know, others will focus on unlocking benefits, others more on increasing service… This is not just a marketing thing, a CRM thing a data/insights thing… It’s holistic and needs everyone, it takes real client expertise and knowledge to not come across as patronising, underwhelming, irrelevant or mismatched with the competition. This is client services and client centricity It must have a consistent continuous system to remain fit for purpose… Let’s see who else and in which industries start adding in new or updated approaches If Boston Consulting Group (BCG) had £50k as the spend on entry to VIC is this a new line in the sand…. If you are a leader of a company you will need to think cleverly about where you want to play…. And more importantly you need to know HOW to play there… https://lnkd.in/efB8yp-B

Expo 2020 Dubai Museum Client: Expo City Real Estate Development FZCO General Contractor: Empty Project: ICARIA ATELIER Location: Expo City Dubai (United Arab Emirates) The museum is housed in the old Expo Live Pavilion built for Expo 2020 Dubai. The building has 475sqm of usable space spread across two floors: 250 ground floor, 225 top floor. Empty's brief consisted in stripping out the existing Expo Live exhibition and producing and installing the new exhibition. The designer for the project was the Seville-based Icaria Atelier. All the MEP systems in the building had to be adjusted for the new architectural design. The works on the top floor consisted in refurbishing the space previously used as a conference room to turn it into a library, retail area and offices, while retaining the capacity for use as a reception and presentation space for groups of visitors. On the ground floor, the exhibition puts visitors in the context of world expos, starting with the first one held in London in 1851 and highlighting the UAE’s experience in this long tradition: from how it won the bid to host Expo 2020 and organised the event to what it plans to do with Expo City. Empty installed three self-supporting walls with 17 integrated fibre glass and acrylic display cases made locally in the UAE. The exhibition walls were lined with acrylic panels onto which graphics and texts were printed. Four of these acrylic wall panels are used as projection surfaces. Empty’s artefact team made and installed all the mounts. The playful atmosphere of the exhibition is enhanced by the EPDM rubber flooring that simulates the local sand dune topography and the AV productions generate an immersive experience that transports visitors back to the main events of Expo 2020 Dubai. The accessibility adaptation of the space was also part of Empty’s brief and consisted in implementing a tactile map and scale model, a NaviLens system for the visually impaired and hearing loops for people with hearing aids. #ExpoCityDubai #Expo2020DubaiMuseum #design #emptysl

Some thoughts about report: 1) In 2023, the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) emerged as a beacon of global economic growth and a pivotal force in reinforcing Dubai's position as a premier destination for business, innovation, and trade. Hosting 301 exhibitions and events, a significant 23% increase from the previous year, DWTC attracted an impressive 2.47 million participants, marking a 25% rise in visitation. This growth is not just a number; it reflects Dubai's magnetic appeal and the city's strategic capacity to convene international business and trade communities. 2) A key driver of this uptrend was the international participation, which saw a staggering 60% growth, bringing over 722,000 international attendees to Dubai. This influx of global attendees is a critical indicator of Dubai's widening appeal and its ability to attract individuals not just for business but also as a potential home for relocation, especially for those captivated by its vibrant business activities. 3) Among the plethora of events, 107 were flagship exhibitions and international association conventions, drawing 1.56 million attendees alone—a 33% jump from the previous year. The significant presence of 53,789 exhibiting companies, 78% of which were international, underscores DWTC's role in offering a global stage for business exchange and networking. 4) However, despite these successes, there remains an area of challenge. The regulatory environment for small and medium-sized events has been less conducive to growth, limiting the ability to host more events that could showcase Dubai's attractive business activities to potential residents. This regulatory oversight is a double-edged sword; while it maintains order, it also curtails the potential for more significant, impactful events that could further enhance Dubai's attractiveness as a business hub. 5) Moreover, Dubai has yet to fully leverage modern technologies such as lead generation through #expochats, the flaunting of participants' achievements through #tvlobby, and #paparazzi, which have been successfully employed in campaigns like #joindubai. These technologies represent untapped potential for enhancing the visibility and appeal of Dubai's bustling event landscape. In conclusion, the DWTC's remarkable achievements in 2023 highlight Dubai's escalating prominence on the global stage. Yet, for Dubai to fully realize its vision of becoming a top three global economic city by 2033, embracing innovative technologies and revisiting regulatory policies for event hosting could pave the way for even greater successes.

"Over the past decade, EXPO Kraków, ICE Kraków Congress Centre, and Arena Kraków S.A. dla TAURON Arena Kraków have been serving the residents of Krakow by providing top-tier events. These three venues have become synonymous with musical inspirations, emotions, and unforgettable experiences, defining not only the cultural but also the business life of the city and the entire region" 💬 Yesterday, on April 15th, as part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations, EXPO Kraków, ICE Kraków Congress Centre, and TAURON Arena Kraków signed a Declaration of Cooperation, recognizing their strategic significance for the city. 🤝🖊 As mentioned during the meeting by Agnieszka Rozwadowska, MBA, this collaboration is an excellent example of achieving one of the goals outlined in the document 'Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,' by the United Nations which emphasizes 🔷'Partnerships for the Goals' 🔷. In this case, our common objective is to attract as many visitors as possible and encourage the utilization of Krakow's infrastructure for event organization 💫 #Krakow #Partnership #Sustainability #Events #TargiwKrakowie

What’s the value of arts and culture? You’d think by now this question is not necessary. It should be obvious we need the arts not only for our wellbeing, sense of identity, social cohesion, and community dialogue, but also as a driver of jobs, economic contribution and building skills of adaptability and creative thinking. Yet at the Culture Summit Abu Dhabi, many policy makers still expressed their frustration that governments do not prioritize the sector in their budgets. One reason is that it has been traditionally hard to quantify the value of the arts. When discussing its benefits, we might sound “fluffy”. Decision makers might only see the arts as a cost center and thus be inclined to cut its budgets and tap themselves on the back for their “efficiency”. How can we change this incorrect perception? What if we could find a way to quantify the value of the arts not only in terms of economic $ but also of its social and environmental value. Can you put a price on the arts? This is blasphemy for purists, but if you want governments to support the arts, you need to start thinking the way your public funders think. To find out how, join us for our workshop today at the Culture Summit Abu Dhabi at 14:25 in Gallery A/2.
